FIVE suites in 3 years from ScS

Hello folks am currently in the midst of a dispute with ScS after the fifth suite (four La-Z-Boys) has developed faults after 6 months but it has taken them 6 months to get someone out to assess who said I can reject but SCS say they are only willing to repair due to the time I have had the suite!
Am looking for the Sale of Goods (Consumer rights) section that says I can reject. Can anyone help?

Have these 5 suites been replaced under warranty? Or is this 5 different purchases? Has it been the same or different faults each time?
What is wrong with the suite this time? Have they said how long it will take to be fixed?0 -
Under SOGA it's not been 6 months it's been 3 years, the clock doesn't reset every time they replace or repair it.
After 3 years the SOGA does not say you can reject it but instead says you are entitled to a remedy of their choosing. They are choosing to repair.
If it ever does get to the stage where they agree to refund you can expect a partial refund for the 3 years use you have had, how much they deduct is any ones guess but it will be a lot.0 -
The suites have been rejected by us at point of delivery due to quality issues and damage. This last suite we accepted but have been trying for 6 months to get someone out to look at problems that have developed and are not unique to our furniture. I have found other forums of people complaining of the same problems on the same models. Substandard quality is my opinion.
What gets me is if they had come out 6 months ago they would have wanted to repair furniture that was 6 months old and cost £3500.0 -

As I understand it if the repair is not satisfactory/ succesful the right to refund reinstates?
Also, the assessor who came to see the suite actually told me I have the right to reject repairs and demand replacement.0 -
You haven't answered the questions so I am going to assume that that all the suites were warranty replacements.
In this case as the original suite is 3 years old any refund you would be entitled to would be partial refund rather than a full one. A retailer can take into account usage and deduct this.
A retailer has to provide any remedy without causing significant inconvenience under the SOGA. 6 months and still no remedy I would consider significant inconvenience and therefore I would request a refund however this will be partial.0 -

Sorry, but maybe I didn't explain fully.
The suites were rejected AT POINT OF DELIVERY, due to faults and quality issues. The suite we have now has been in our possession for 12 months but we have waited 6 months for the assessor.
The current suite we have is a warranty issue I suppose, but there is a consistent lack of quality in this furniture due to the faults at point of delivery and the subsequent faults which have developed in the first 6 months.
My bone of contention is we paid £3500 for this crap and I expect better quality and service from a "Premium" product and do not expect to have to tolerate major repairs within the first 6 months. Anything else I would be slinging it back, so why not furniture?0 -

You say you rejected them at point of delivery but had use of them for 6 months - confused
Read slowly.
Four suites were rejected at point of delivery.
The one we have now, which we accepted, has developed faults.
Obviously, this is the fifth suite.
We got it 12 months ago.
We have been waiting for the assessor for 6 months.
It developed problems when 6 months old.
Do you understand ?0 -
OP I think perhaps you should give us a timeline to help clear things up.
ie 1st jan 2014, tried to deliver first suite but it had xyz wrong with it so we sent it back that same day.
they sent a 2nd suite on 8th feb but this time had xyz wrong with it so we sent it back 2 days later. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
OP, i had similar issues with scs (rejecting repairs on substandard lazboy sofa) and ended up getting full refund of everything i paid, not just the amount that was taken on credit.
i had a thread on here but on tablet so cant link it but if you search you will find the timeline etc. Dont even get me started on leather paint! If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
Not really, it doesn't explain how it's dragged on for 3 years, unless . . .Read slowly.

(I'm guessing now) you had a long wait between each rejection and a replacement being delivered?
Good idea, saves having to guessunholyangel wrote: »OP I think perhaps you should give us a timeline to help clear things up.
