Houses with downstairs bathrooms

Well perhaps it's not common to everybody that may be interested.
The floorplan would have given an indication of what could be added e.g an upstairs loo by way of landing space, airing cupboard etc and also feasibilty with regards to the existing plumbing arrangements.
I must admit to not looking at the pictures as it doesn't usually have hall pictures and was not required by me to answer the OP's question.
I did see that it was an open day being held, so may be hard to quantify space on the view too.0 -

You don't know it is a common layout without a plan, surely? Also doesn't help buyers who aren't familiar with whatever the local common layouts are.0 -

I lived in my parents house with a downstairs bathroom for about 10 years, didn't bother me. I bought a house with a downstairs loo and upstairs bathroom, great. The I moved to a house with no downstairs loo, at first I missed it then got used to it. Next house, again with a loo downstairs and bathroom upstairs, great again!! When we were doing up the downstairs loo, (making it into shower room), we were without the downstairs loo for a while and really missed it, as we're not as young as we were and had to keep going upstairs for a wee!!
The thing is, you get used to it and if everything else is ok go for it!0 -
£240, 000 !!! My God.
I've viewed houses like that. I wouldn't want one.
Maybe if you had a loo upstairs, but otherwise it would be back to a pot under the bed.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

£240,000 for that - you've got to be kidding.
An equivalent house in my area (North West) would be around £100K, and that would have three bedrooms - or two with a large upstairs bathroom!0 -
My mums house was an old railway cottage with a downstairs bathroom. She moved the bathroom upstairs into one of the bedrooms, converted the loft into two bedrooms and extended the kitchen to include a utility room. If you're happy to invest in the property is should be ok.
Personally I wouldn't move into a house unless I knew the bathroom was upstairs as I feel they are disgusting if off the kitchen and inconvenient when you have guests to stay. That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!
