Just seen that there is a credit card on my file that has 0 balance on it as iv'e not used it in years.
Should i contact the company and close the account or just leave it ?

Cheers

Depends - does it have a large credit limit? If yes, you could always keep it for emergencies. If yes and you also have other cards and might want to take another one out in future, close it.

Does the card offer any promotions for say 0% purchases or balance transfers or earn any points etc?

What on earth is keeping you from closing it then?
  • if you ring up to cancel it they could offer you a balance transfer from another card or 0% on purchases for a limited time period, an emergency use for it is also an option.

I have a natwest card that doesn't show any any credit report due to it being taken out over 19 years ago, they keep sending me a new card every few years but I haven't used it in over 10 years, its my emergency card that will hopefully never be needed but i would ring up if required to try and get a deal on it and cancel if not
