Dodgy floor fitting.

We have just had some flooring fitted by a trademan off rated people. He came and fitted the floor. We provided all materials. After completion we paid 75 pounds in cash to fit the floor. After he left it became apparent that we were not happy at all with his work. We rang him to say that we were not happy and he said he would come back to fill in any gaps. However we are not happy at all as the boards supplied have not been cut correctly. Are we entitled to a refund and payment of the boards which are now useless? We don't want him to carry out any repairs work.

i have no idea where you stand but it would of been best to inspect his handy work before you paid him in my opinion0

Are the gaps at the skirting? There need to be a 10mm expansion gap around the edges which gets covered with beading, have you provided beading?0

If i could post pictures I would. It is atrocious. The cuts he has made round skirting are terrible. Some boards are butted right up to skirting. Some have gaps. It's really inconsistent. He has even nailed down 2 boards. I'm pretty sure a floating floor does not need nails.0

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
Should have a 10mm gap all the way round.0

Ok but where do I stand on getting this resolved? Clearly the guy can't do the job properly and I'm not happy with the work carried out. Surely I'm due a refund under consumer rights act?0
