Worst injury? Missed a red light, wrote bike off, wrote car off, thumped head & shoulder rather hard but worst scared the bejasus out of myself as unable feel my feet for several hours.
Worst pain? sinusitis with impacted wisdom tooth in 2nd. Childbirth, water infections, a memorable kidney infection & broken bones all came below that sinusitis...0 -
Worst injuries: Fractured skull & spine, falling off a horse (my fault
).
Worst pain: Being awake - but paralysed - during my last Caesar.. Spent 49 excruciating minutes desperately trying to move a finger, lift an eyelid - anything to let the anaesthetist know; impossible! The surgeons didn't believe me, until I repeated their conversation during the op in fine detail..
But that was just the beginning. Still paralysed I couldn't breathe alone, so had to endure being re-intubated while awake. Three days later I had double pneumonia, peritonitis and an infected wound - all from an allergic reaction to the anaesthetic drugs. My gut was so swollen it looked like I was about to deliver triplets, which resulted in an unending stream of doctors and medical students from hospitals as far as fifty miles away, all wanting to 'flick' my belly and hear the distinctive peritonitis 'boing'.
..That was the most painful sensation I have ever endured. Eventually I refused to allow any more experimentation, much to the medics' disappointment.
Before the op, three times I had asked for a spinal block because it is known to be dangerous for people with ME / CFS to undergo general anaesthetic, and three times been refused. Eventually the surgeon told me to sign the consent form and hand it to his clinic nurse. I'd written my objections on the form - which saved my life! When the doctors found my comments in my file, they jumped through hoops for me - if I'd succumbed, their careers would have been over (to this day I wish I'd recorded the final consultation with the senior surgeon - boy was he sweating!).
Seven weeks later, I was finally reunited with my baby.0 -

OMG!! That's the stuff of nightmares.
I felt weak just reading the start of it, and then the whole story gets worse!
I don't know what to say Robin. I can't imagine how horrendous it all must have been.0 -
Just for info, Comedyshortsgamer is an AE for the OP, hbk4894 who has been PPR'd for these data mining threads.

The pain in my hip at the moment, just a few weeks (fingers crossed) from major surgery to put it back into the socket. Some days are good, others i can't walk 100m up the road without it feeling like i'm being stabbed.0

An episiotomy being performed with no anaesthetic. An infection in the episiotomy. A nerve dying in a tooth. Achilles tendonitis.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.
one life, live it!0 -

Constant burning femural nerve pain from an infection following a recent op.0 -
I got admitted to hospital a few years ago with a nasty infection. I was on an antibiotic drip. While my husband was there I had a seizure followed by 5 more over the following days. I was in hospital for a month and lost a massive amount of weight. Fortunately had no problems since, the neurologist thought the mega dose of antibiotics had pushed me over the seizure threshold.0
