Problem with TSB contactless?

It's not just me then. There are months where I have received the full £5 and thought it impossible having added up my contactless receipts for that month. I don't think that always happens, though. It may depend on what action the till operator takes - some seem to cancel contactless transactions that are running into difficulties and leave you with a standard chip and pin transaction when you enter your card. At least that's my best guess.
I actually think if you start as a contactless transaction and it asks for PIN then it will be recorded as contactless.
I don't use my card for anything else since it is not actually my main a/c- nor do I go to the machine using PIN.
At the start of this offer if I was rejected (which was pretty much every time hence replacement card) I used a credit card instead. Now I just pay with the TSB and watch what happens!!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Have not had any problem with my TSB contactless and I have a Classic Plus account. I have used it in: Wilkos, Morrisons, B&Q, Screwfix, BHS (still open at Grimsby last week) Co op Food. Never once asked for C&P.
My contactless TSB card is Mastercard, is this true of others? Ours is a joint account but my wife does not want contactless and her C&P card is a plain TSB card. I also bought an 'anti-RFID' wallet for my cards.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Well, mine flipping asks for the PIN probably every 4th transaction...... in some ways it will be a relief when we get to the end of the year! because then I won't have to keep trying to use it to justify the £5 refund!!!!
My main shop is with Tesco- no use there! they haven't upgraded the machines in either store or petrol station.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I have to visit my branch tomorrow, so I will ask about this problem. Just visited Morrisons this am, divided the grocery purchases in two, no contactless problem. And Louth Morrisons is a small store, based on what was a Somerfields store.
Katie and everyone else affected by this, if I find any relevant information, I will post again.I think this job really needs

Don't tell me you are in Louth!!
I rarely go in Morrisons despite living close
No my card seems to have the need to be verified every verse end! I tend to juggle it with the Halifax clarity- to get the fiver their too!!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Just received a replacement card - the first would not work at all as contactless (tried in two separate shops, chip & pin worked fine).0

Anyone with an iPhone: Apple Pay has been working perfectly for me with several TSB contactless cards for at least 6 months now. I have never had a failed purchase transaction. My purchases were in Morrisons, Coop, Waitrose, Wilkos, Boots, Costas, my hairdresser and anyone else who accepts contactless/Apple Pay.
I believe TSB are also supporting Android Pay. Not sure about Samsung Pay.0 -

The honourable thing for TSB to do would be to build in some logic that detects the customer's attempt to pay contactlessly regardless of the card insert prompts that occur now and again. At the very least they should update their contactless FAQ page and let us know where we stand on this.0 -
I also have my TSB card regularly declined for contactless but it then works in B&M without any further use in an ATM. In fact, it's never been rejected by them (at three different branches).0

I had a contactless payment attempt prompt me to insert my card in Aldi today and the receipt says SOURCE: CHIP READ so I'm not expecting the 5% cashback. Having said that I guess that doesn't necessarily mean that's what TSB registers the transaction as. And being new to TSB I have no experience of whether cashback will be received for such transactions.

I don't believe that you would get teh 5% on a refused contactless payment that was completed with pin, I haven't risked at and have pulled another card out in this scenario.
In terms of the honourable thing then I think that is a bit optimistic, and would tacitly indicate that people are playing the current account game, which would inevitably result in the removal of all the incentives for switching and holding 'main' accounts.
After all the 5% contactless cashback is just a little incentive to use contactless from your main account, as this is after all your main account that you are probably putting large amounts of transactions through, so one failure won't impact the maximum £5 you could earn monthly in any case.0
