How long to change title deeds/ Is legal advice needed?

Can anyone tell me how long it takes to have a change in ownership processed and appear on the title register? When is does appear, is the transfer dated when the documents were signed, or when the LR processes it? Also if an unmarried couple were to change the property from 'tenants in common' to 'joint tenants' would it be usual to have independent legal advice for each party before this is done, or could the existing solicitor for one of the parties do this for both?

No since there are too many variables

Date of Transfer

The average timescale between lodgement of the application to register the Transfer and completion of the registration is currently 5/6 working days.
How long it takes to get to the lodgement stage will vary but a rough rule of thumb is 2/3 weeks after actual completion of the purchase
The Transfer is usually dated following completion of the purchase so contracts are exchanged and you then complete. It will be dated before it is submitted to us for registration.
We always recommend that parties get legal/financial advice before either transferring ownership or changing how they hold the property.“Official Company Representative
