  • We're still in Jan until the 31st, and are hoping to have a nice chunk to go into savings.

Feb will be start to finish too: 1st to 29th.

Could we be in for £300 please? :)

Thank you to everyone who organises our fresh months! :T
  • Hi everyone, could if join please? I try to be careful but always fall for the typical supermarket ploys to get me to spend more money! My month will start on 1st and I'm going to set myself a budget of £350. This is for three adults. I've decided to go for £75 per week +£50 bonus. I will keep my receipts and see how challenging this is as to be honest at the moment I have no idea exactly how much I spend on food monthly I'm ashamed to say!
  • After lurking for a month I would love to join in. Our baby is due in May and we are desperately trying to save money but seem to massively overspend on groceries due to demanding jobs and nipping to sm on the way home to buy something quick. Our month runs from the 20th to 20th each month and I've just worked out we've already spent £111.66 after a sm shop today. I'm hoping to come in at £300 for the month but this may be optimistic for a first go. Fingers crossed!

OH prefers the food to go on the table so that he can decide how much he wants to eat. I have suggested plating up and for meals where there are set amounts, such as sausages or chicken breasts, it's fine but if I cook something like a chilli he wants to help himself :(
Could you perhaps try a sneaky attack. Explain to him that you need his help to teach the sprogs that waste is not a good idea, and them seeing him leaving food on his plate doesn't help. You don't mind how much he eats so long as he clears his plate ;)

  • Hello back again after a break over Dec and Jan . I never over spent over the holidays really but still looking forward to tightening the belt slightly more than the last Grocery Challenge I did.

Can you pop me down for £320 for Feb , Starting at beginning of Feb. That is for myself , Husband , 2 teens and a 4yr old . Plus 2 cats and a budgie (although its very cheap cheap to keep) . That will include toiletries and cleaning products and all food and drink for us and pets :)

  • Sorry for the abrupt post above, I'm having problems with the tablet (once I change to a large red font, it wont let me change back on the same post)

Anyway this month runs from 29th Jan to the 26th Feb, so hopefully I should keep in budget this month after a slight overspend for January.

    Best of luck folks

I'm in again too please - have ended up under budget by £30 in January and hope to do this again in February .

I'll go for £160 again for 4 weeks shopping to include all food, household stuff, dog food and treats, and toiletries. There's just me and a greedy little pooch so it should be doable - let's hope last month wasn't a fluke!

    Afternoon All,

I came in £6.71 under budget for January so decided to join again for February :D.

My budget will restart next Sunday and will be £300 for 4 weeks, hoping to look something like this:

    £60 - 31/01/16
    £65 - 07/02/16
    £60 - 14/02/16
    £65 - 21/02/16
£50 - Butchers and farmshop as and when

Will see how it goes! xx
