I know Beanie - they're really sore today because I've sat and thought about it. Adrenaline and painkillers have kept me going since it happened. I literally took about 4 slow steps on a smooth surface and I went down. ive taped them and am taking max dose painkillers - it's getting beyond a joke - brittle bones and poor balance aren't a good combination. It's really shaken my confidence. Luckily the weather has been hot as the covers on my feet are a no go in bed - not had the best sleep since it happened but I've just done my bit to stop waste by finishing a bottle of wine that was left yesterday:p so I'm off to beddy byes now and hopefully will drop straight off - think I got about 2 hours last night.
Lazy days planned for the next few days - got to book as appointment at docs for repeat prescription so might just mention the falls and breaks I've had recently - don't think they can do much though - I'm already on a high calcium dose , although there is a treatment to strengthen bones which is give as an infusion but I don't think I'm severe enough for that yet......and it has some undesired side effects.January spends - £587.580 -
After all the rushing to do shopping and getting the house in order for last weekend, then having the kids here and the party which went in the blink of an eye, I feel incredibly flat. There's a few bits and pieces I still need to put away - like the camp beds but my get up and go has got up and gone. We go to York at weekend and I'm looking forward to that, and I'll be ok walking around with dh, but I usually just get myself out for a walk into town when I feel like this - but I think I'm too wary to go out - I've had so many falls recently - I need to give myself a shake up or something or I can see myself not going out on my own other than driving to work.
I phoned the GP for an appointment to review repeat prescriptions - they have requested a weeks worth of blood pressure readings before I see her. I had such great intentions of shedding weight to reduce blood pressure as I don't want medication which she wanted to put me on last time I visited. But it hasn't happened so I suspect it'll be the same - but I still don't want meds for it.
The more I know I need to shed at least a stone the harder it is and I keep sabotaging myself - it's probably near 2 stone if I'm honest with myself. I've got a 12 week countdown from SW and am heavier half way in than I was at the beginning and I've got gym membership that I haven't used for a month now. I need a kick up the behind to make me do it.
I think the hospital appointments are playing on my mind more than i care to admit- especially my arm. I could do with being in work as a distraction. I've had so much time off this year - think I've gone into my old habits of sitting in front of the square box in the corner watching daytime rubbish and I'm on holiday not sick so need to kick that habit too.....
Right enough wallowing and feeling sorry for myself
Today I'm thankful for
Having enough left overs from the party to feed us quite a while
Having York at weekend and surprising dh with his present to look forward to

Thanks Beanie - I will indeed keep plodding. I made myself go out to see a friend today - it's a friend I've known since I started secondary school and we tell each other most things and are totally honest and don't take offence if we tell each other a few home truths:) we put the world to rights over bacon butties and a good strong cuppa.
On my way home I drove into town and walked - granted a tad cautiously - to spec savers and booked a hearing and eye test for a couple of weeks time. I treated myself to a motivational notebook and stickers - I am going to record my food, blood pressure and exercise everyday - bp was a bit higher than I'd have liked this morning. BUT there's only me who can change it and I won't do that by sitting on my behind feeling sorry for myself. Every time I lose 1/2lb I'll put a butterfly sticker on the cover of the book - silly mind games but something similar has worked previously. I had a little mooch around but tis a bit dire these days - nearly all pound and charity shops - M&S, BHS, dotty ps, toys are us - all sadly leaving gaping holes....
Tomorrow ill face the music at SW - I missed the last 2 weeks - not good. I know this week will be tricky as its our wedding anniversary and we will be away - then I'll give it my best shot until my 60th birthday - I could kick myself - but I won't as my toe is too sore:D:rotfl:January spends - £587.580 -

My birthday is the end of September Beanie
I went to SW yesterday and had a miracle maintain so I was overjoyed at that. I had a message from a couple of ladies from work to ask me if I wanted to go to the pub at lunch. I did but I took the car as I know these lovely ladies would make a full day of drinking and I couldn't do it these days - jealous :rotfl:So I stuck to diet cokes and had a w'spoons Salad -I spent about a tenner which I hadn't planned but it was so worth it - I needed a good laugh to lift me. Dh took me out for tea a different w'spoons but I had a lovely fruit cider as I wasn't driving. A nice unexpected day.
As I suspected there isn't much difference in my blood pressure - slightly higher..... I am not going on meds for it no matter what the doc says. According to t'internet I'm still at level 1 hypertension - just. So I'm really trying to change my lifestyle. I need to up the exercise - so will try swimming. Carry on drinking de-caff tea and coffee and reduce salt. After watching a programme on bp the other week - I'm going to have a big bowl of porridge every day too - more than SW recommend but if that's what it takes - so be it. Plus lose the weight I need to shed. No surprises there then. So with any new plan I've bought a shiny new book to record things. I've divided it into food/blood pressure diary, thought diary and after my next cc statement I'll do another spending diary too. I've bought a 4 coloured pen :rotfl::rotfl: silliness I know :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:but if recording in different colours helps me stick to it - it'll be a couple of quid well spent. I also bought some butterfly stickers to stick on the cover 1 for each 1/2 lb that fies away..........
So I've given myself a kick up the behind and hatched a new plan - watch this space :T:T:TJanuary spends - £587.580
