As I suspected I was very stiff this morning - a friend picked me up and we went to breakfast in a local park which has a lovely little cafe. We put the world to rights and had a little walk around -
3000 steps :T. I'm getting my confidence back...
Ds is taking time owed and we are going to seeVictoria and Abdul at little cinema which tends to show older films. I wanted to see it when it was out but ended up in hospital instead.....hopefully he's treating me to tea.....well over my syns today - but should work out over the week.
Lol I'm not going to menu plan - I only stuck to a couple of days - I'm too spontaneous and change my mind from minute to minute :rotfl:
Today I'm thankful for

Went to a local theatre built in Art Deco era which has been restored and is run by a mixture of staff and volunteers on Friday to seeVictoria and Abdul. I've been there before to see live performances as it is a lot cheaper than going into the big theatres in Manchester but this is the 1st time ivebeen to see a film. It was amazing....the restored Art Deco organ came up from a pit and the organist played for about half an hour then want back down - there were old pathe news reels played about the queen visiting India - obviously because the film was linked to India then an ice cream/ drink interval before the main film where the organist popped up again. We had a great night.
Yesterday ds took us to York to collect some train bits dh had dropped in for repair - got stuck on motorway on way home and took us double the time as there'd been an accident so we went to carvery for meal as it was far too late to be bothered to cook....that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
Today went to specs@vers for dh to get glasses repaired - which they couldn't do - he decided to buy cheap frames until he's due an eye test and have his own lenses put in......they were £45 as a complete pair of specs and that's what they wanted to charge him - he ended up arguing with them as he wasn't having new lenses and the would be no technician needed to make new lenses so why did he have to pay full price.......anyway after manager being involved it was decided he'd only have to pay £25 for the frames.....what a cheek - they'd happily have taken £45 if he hadn't have made a fuss......
I took the bull by the horns and made myself drive today.......I was fine - no idea why I'd got myself so worried. I went about 3 miles to my gum and back - reinstated my membership which had been frozen and drove back. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: dh offered to come with me but I hate driving and he makes me nervous - no idea why but I was much better on my own.
This weekend I've been grateful for
- walk along the river in York 15000 steps:T :T
- lazy morning with bacon butty in bed
- mustering courage to drive my car for 1st time since OctoberJanuary spends - £587.581 -
Well done on the driving :j :j

A couple of friends popped in separately yesterday and I had a lazy knitting day. Dd is coming home for a couple of days with the girls next week before I go back to work and I want to finish knitting cardi and start and finish a crocheted cardi before she comes. So busy busy busy.
I am sitting quietly fuming.....we had a bathroom fitted just before the Christmas before last. So it's just over a year old. In the summer the shower started playing up - if the tap was running on the sink the shower would work but if not it wouldn't.....anyway we contacted plumber who fitted it as it was guaranteed and he was supposed to come out but we'd had a message he was in hospital with a fractured skull as he'd fallen off a ladder. He was a decent lad starting his own business so we gave him the benefit of there doubt. Phoned him from time to time - anyway he went back to work this January so I've been in daily contact - he came out and it's apparently a valve - he's arranged so many times to come out and had an excuse every time not to show.....waiting for parts - job he's doing over run stuck in traffic so turned back - I suspect he's taking the Mickie now. Anyway I got up early as he was suppose to be here at nine-ish and he still hasn't shown. I've just had a message saying he's been up all night with the baby and he'll be with me between half ten and eleven as he's gone back to bed for an hour!!!....... Will see what time he shows - my patience is running out:mad: Is it me with MUG written on my head or what.....January spends - £587.580 -
He's just turned up - hopefully will have a working shower today.....maybe he was genuine after all:undecided:undecidedJanuary spends - £587.581

Today I am grateful for
- faith in people restored when shower was finally mended
- somewhere warm and cozy to shelter from wind and rain
- granddaughters to knit for and keep me amused - both the knitting and the girls when I see theJanuary spends - £587.581 -
Had a couple of good days - I've reinstated my gym pass and been for a couple of swims. I loved it but could feel my leg dipping when i walked after so must learn little and often. I've driven a couple of times too.
Lol I went to Morrisons yesterday on my own with the car.....BIG mistake:o control went out of the window and I think my aim was to fill the basket - well basically just because I could - I could put it in the trolley then the car and drive it home all in one go - rather than carry a couple of things in a rucksack with my crutches:eek::eek: £95 pounds later - but I'd bought things I'd been going to get for ages - new mat for front door, new socks and some bits for the kitchen along with a couple of reduced skirts and tights for the grandchildren. Plus I stocked up on frozen veg and restocked my cupboards. I should still be on target to pay off my cc in February.
SW wise - I'd had a rubbish week snacking on !!!! - meals were on plan but my hand and mouth had a mind of their own and I'd eaten all sorts before my brain registered it!!! I'd put 1/2lb on - in my head I'd put 1/2 stone on. Line drawn lesson learned that I can't just stuff my face all day.....mmmm got 2 meals out this week though so need to be really good in between.
I've had a fascinating evening exchanging photos with a family member abroad that I'd lost all contact with since our parents died many moons ago. It's really given me lots of good things to think about.
Today I am thankful for
- the Internet making the world a smaller place
- my good recovery
- the sun shining through the windows
On that note I'm going to clean my windows as the sun is showing every streak and fingerprint.....January spends - £587.580
