Thanks all - ernie - rest has been the order of the season - must get round to making some chicken soup.
I've just been onto the consultants secretary as I've been waiting for an appointment which is due early January. I'll know by tomorrow whether it's this Saturday or on the 20th. Then I can hopefully be given the all clear to drive again. I'm doing really well walking outside with 1 crutch - I just need the confidence to walk proper distances without it. My leg still starts to tremor if I stand still for any amount of time and if I'm tired. Fingers crossed......then I'll need to get my confidence back driving - I really don't like driving and have only missed it once or twice on the run up to Christmas. But I'll be able to drive to the gym and re instate my membership start swimming and build up on the treadmill. Then get back to work...... Thinking back to early October - I didn't ever imagine going back when I couldn't stand or feel my leg......but now I feel I can do it :T:T
My chest is still rattling like a guddun but feeling slightly better and sleeping much better
My neighbour that went into a care home earlier this year passed away yesterday - I'm feeling quite sad as there is no one left to send a condolence card to to say how lovely she was. I haven't been to see her since I was in hospital and had every intention of making her some mince pies - which I'd done for the last 30 years and taking them to her the weekend before Christmas but then we started feeling I'll and I didn't want to take it to her. She was an active independent lady until this time last year....
Boy this post is very pessimistic - must go and get some positive vibes from somewhere before I returnJanuary spends - £587.581 -
So sorry to hear about your neighbour.
Mine went into a care home too earlier this year.
Strange after 28 years of living next door.
The end of ana indeed.

Watch the leg when it is tremoring.
That for me is an indication I may fall.
Though hopefully not for you.
Hope the driving falls into place too.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Beanie that's my concern re the tremor. This particular leg could give and I've had some nasty falls even before the spinal problem. My joints are so lax they give without warning so add the nerve damage and I've realised I'm quite wary of giving up the final crutch outside. Seems silly as I'm walking perfectly inside. I've really pushed myself to get to where I am but finding this last step difficult. I'll get there.
I'm not rattling as much today which is going in the right direction.
There's a lovely couple moving in next door where my old neighbour lived and are doing the house up big time. I feel as if they've been hammering or drilling non stop since July. They started at 7 this morning and normally I can switch off to it but it's driving me mad today. But needs must......they'll have a lovely little home once it's finished. Lol - they must have read my mind and it's just stopped ....bliss.
We need to paint the doors and cupboard we had built before Christmas but not until we've got rid of the chest infections as paint will not do us any good.
Can't face looking at cc statements - I'll wait until next week which is my new statement then set a plan in action to pay it off. A plus of being poorly over Christmas was I couldn't get out much to spend and we haven't eaten half of the food I bought in - so lots of scope for NSD and low spend days in January :money::T:T
We've still got so much 'treat' food - chocolates, biscuits and I've not even cut into the Christmas cake yet....plus I'd opened a bottle of Baileys and had a bit of it - we've not felt much like eating and not been able to drink with the antibiotics. I want to start getting back on track food wise BUT there's NO way any will be thrown away......will have to get back to Slimming World once I can drive and work little treats into my plan. I want to lose at least a stone and probably nearer 2 stone before my 60th birthday in September...

Just been reading through in Need of Directions diary and I think I'm going to pinch an idea - hope that's ok INOD.
Today I am pleased
- to be inside in the warm and away from the wind out there
- full fridge and freezer
- friends - real and virtual
Need to get some positivity back in my life as I feel on a bit of a downward spiral....January spends - £587.581 -
Well to be fair there is no rush to get rid of the crutch.
Like you I plod around in the house without my stick most of the time.
For me I think it is that I can always crawl to something to in the house to lean on to get up.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Funny how you get idea so of people Beanie - in my head you are in your 40s......thought I was lots older than you. I must have based it on your son still studying.
Yes I'm 60 in September it's our 40th wedding anniversary in August and dh is 65 in November - we had half talked about a cruise or a special holiday then I ended up in hospital and we've not done anything about it because we've no idea how long I'll be off work.....whether I have to chose a holiday to fit in school holidays or not....Or what we can afford. But even if it's something here we will have a nice holiday to celebrate all 3.
The most annoying thing is - we should both have been retiring this year - before the ages were changed - when we got married we always joked about retiring together - I'd be 60 and he'd be 65 within a couple of months of each other. It seemed such a long way off....and its arrived scarily quickly :eek: only to have the goalposts changed just as they were in site:mad::mad::mad:January spends - £587.581 -
The main reason I want to get rid of the crutch is so I can get back to work Beanie. Itd be such a temptation for the kids I work with not to touch the crutch if we're parked somewhere whilst sitting working with them.January spends - £587.581
