So pleased to hear that you finally got to see DD's family after all this time. You sounded like you all had a lovely time. 😀
The plans look good for the renovation.

I phoned a builder this afternoon. He has done work at my friends and done a pretty good job. He said he’s busy for the next month but will be back in touch as soon as he can. I know I really should get a few quotes but I’m reluctant to get a quote from an unknown builder. I might knock at a neighbour who had work done last year to see if they recommend the builder they used.
It has rained virtually all day. I’ve done a fair bit of cleaning and nipped around to Morrison’s - £30 but dh owes me for a few bits I bought for him. There were a couple of fellas in there kicking off big time - the language and the way they were shouting at staff was awful - 3 security guards appeared - they escorted them out still swearing. They were still outside and had a cordon of male staff keeping them from the public - the one way system was suspended and everyone used the same door. No idea why they were kicking off but it must have been very disconcerting for the staff....they weren’t young kids either - about 30ish 😳😱😳😱
I’d gained 1/2lb this morning- it could have been much worse as I hit the biscuits at work last week. I’m not giving up......

I hear you on the builders milann - I'm always nervous of new tradesmen - I had a bad experience with a builder years ago when I was with a previous partner and my DSis always seems to have a drama whenever she has any work done to her home!  I haven't had to have any real large building works done on a home since the above - only internal - new bathroom, kitchen, decorating, plumbing etc and I've stuck to tradesmen I've known for years. Not looking forward to the day when they finally retire....☹️
Funny how the weather is so different in other parts of the country - it was blistering yesterday in Seasideville!🌞
The debacle in the supermarket sounded quite intimidating. Yes - the poor staff. What is the matter with some people!😡
Don't  give up on the weight!  I lost 3lb this week - I was a bit miffed as I usually lose more at the start of cutting down, but actually should count it as a nice win!😀

My local big Tescos has removed all their arrows & signs about distancing & no longer has the public announcements or the one queue only for checkouts.  I was told it was because of a fight that broke out when someone asked another couple to move 2 meters away from them as they were encroaching on their space.  Personally I would have thought that was an even bigger reason to keep them in place.  I used to think the majority of people were reasonable human beings, not so sure now.  After all if you break the rules well lets just remove the rule!  World gone mad.

Bad memory - nice to see you - it’s only a 1 way system in that you in and out of different of  doors. Once inside it’s always been a free for all. Then there are arrows for distancing at the tills. I did wonder if they were kicking off to create a decoy and keep the security staff busy whilst other folk shop lifted - I’ve become very suspicious in my old age 😂😂 I really felt for the staff. Just no need for it - like you say it feels as if the world has gone mad at times.
3 1/2 days till break up. I’m wishing my life away.
Did a bit of gardening at relatives yesterday then had a curry and watched Hamilton. I’d never heard of Hamilton and really enjoyed it.
I’m in a quandary - I’ve kept a supply of food in just in case I need to isolate and can’t get out - do I continue with this or work on emptying my cupboards, fridge and freezer in readiness for the builder. What to do, what to do 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 ( I feel very lucky to have the choice - I haven’t always)

Can you go half and half on emptying the cupboards?

Think that’s what I’m going to do Beanie - if worse comes to worse and I have to isolate- I’ll have to do an online shop. It sounds as if another full lockdown will be an absolute last resort.

Also think they are more likely to lockdown local areas I think.

You’re right Beanie - thanks - it does help to chew over thoughts and ideas. I think my dh is revisiting his teenage years - whenever I ask him things theses days more often than not the answer is ‘whatever you think’ or ‘I don’t know’.......🤔😂🤔😂
I forgot to say I’ve signed up to duo lingo - I’ve done 3 out of 4 days now 👍 I’m going for Spanish as we do that at school although I’m not often in on the lessons- usually doing 1-1 out of the classroom but it would be nice to have an idea of what they’re saying if I do happen to be in.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the duo lingo Milann. I'm on day 102 of the Spanish and I've surprised myself how much I've picked up. Should come in useful as I normally visit Spain 3 times a year 😀 I particularly like the Spanish word for pets which is mascotas - I think it's very fitting as it sounds like little mascots 😀
