fog lights not working
Options
As per the title the fog light do not work.
Car is a Mazda 3 on a 60 plate.
When turning the front fogs on they do not light up nor do I get a light on the dash to show they should be on.
If I turn the rear fogs on as well I see a light on the dash and the rear fog works ok.
In your opinions what's likely to be the obvious cause and what would you check first.
Both bulbs blown,
Fuse blown,
Wiring fault.
Only had the car less than a month so not sure which option to start with.
Thanks in advance.

Possible, although unlikely, that both bulbs would fail together. On that basis I would check the fuse first. If no success then replace one of the bulbs.0

Thanks Scotsbob
I'm thinking its possible both bulbs could have blown as since I owned the car they have never worked. Its only recently I tried them.
Ill check the fuse first tho.0 -

Seriously, if they've never worked since you had it there's a good chance it's the bulbs. They don't get checked for MOT and not having them doesn't make any practical difference probably 99.99% of the time in the UK unless you want them to emulate DRLs. So when the filaments fail from vibration no-one notices and they don't get changed.0 -
if the bulbs had both failed would the light on the instrument cluster not work either or would it still show as being switched on?
Thanks Joe.0 -

I guess that's one way to get your post count up.
Who said it wasn't foggy.0 -

Thanks Joe.
Does it have a light on the instrument cluster? Our car only has a light for the rears on the cluster despite having front fogs.
Google searching the fuse box diagram shows the front and rears on the Mazda 3 being on the same fuse which would eliminate a blown fuse, although it shows them having a relay for the fronts but not the rear.
Check the bulbs first. Take them out and inspect if they are blown by looking at the filament,0 -

Just checked the car manual and it does have a light in the cluster for the front fogs.
Thanks for the suggestion0 -

I would probably have a look at the switch itself first.0
