Non Refundable Deposits

My point of all this is that from the receipt it makes it clear that I should be due a refund but the supplier are refusing me one. They state that in the terms and conditioned I signed it says the refund is non refundable.
I was never told this at the time of paying the deposit and I did not see, read or sign these terms and conditions for over 7 days after I paid the deposit because the supplier failed to tell me about them.
I don't see how this can be fair or enforceable?!0 -
I don't think there's been any mention of how you paid. If it was by credit card then you can make a S75 claim from the card issuer, and if it's by debit card you may be able to request a Chargeback. However, failing either of those then for £2000 it's certainly worth doing as bris suggests in post #4 and issuing a small claim.

Hi, A quick update and i want to thank everyone who has contributed.
I took all your advice, did a lot more of my own research and wrote a factual and to the point letter to the company.
I was able to quote points of law, services they had offered us at the time of booking but were now unable to fulfil and pointed out the discrepencies between the cancellation charges printed on receipts to that in their terms and conditions.
I finished the letter by pointing out that i wanted to work with them to find a solution but if this was not possible then i would take the matter to small claims court.
Within a week, i recieved a full refund and a letter of apology which was a total turn around from the arogant, aggressive and dismissive letters we had received previously.
Thank you to everyone who helped.0
