* Did the SIM card shuffle*.
* Soothe weary eyes with salt water. Dissolved salt in boiling water then leave to cool.
SIM card shuffle:
*Our really creative solution to our 15MB per month broadband account problem that had been bugging us for months. We never have enough data each month but this is the only company that can supply us as we can't have a line to our property as we live in the Near Arctic so our internet comes through a mobile Wifi Dongle device with a SIM card in it. We are already on the package with the largest amount of data so we can't pay more for more data. Local library is miles away. And if we run the internet through our mobiles we'll be broke. Solution: Take out a second SIM card only contract that'll give us 10MB per month with the same company. Then, 60% of the way through the month, take the 15MB/month SIM card out of the device and insert the 10MB/month SIM card. Thus we now have 25MB per month but we only had to buy one device. (We're still paying less for these two contracts than most people pay for unlimited broadband because I haggled.)Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -

I would definitely recommend signing up for one. You get the serious super fit people, but then you also get people in fancy dress floating around in the "puddles" (waist high!) on blow up crocodiles! Ok I don't think all races have blow up animals, but its still a laugh!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)0 -
Hello all
How do I get the car insurance badge. Saved a fortune today by 1st checking had all the right covers, drivers, excesses and then got a saving on top. Good job done. Also with a which 5 star insurer.
Just got back from work:
done dishwasher
washed up stuff left on side when dw full
made spag bol
counselled dd who is revising. Breathe etc.
Chased DS, no reply to phone message re enquiry, what happened today re sheep. Yes I did cancel Dr appointment to remove stitches post op ( I removed them yesterday, quite proud of myself!) DS had no time to go in, think I might get the MSE for saving NHS resources. Feel like a guru.
Am now drinking tea and breathing, showing DD how it is done, "and relax!)
Ready for another day of mayhem and joy.
Maria
ps I uploaded swalec electricity readings and no response from them, should I do something more?0 -
Jonno - I live in fear of anything unauthorised on my account. How did it happen?
Maria - just DM one of the MSE team for your badge.
Hannah - hope your son feels better soon." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Evening,
Today was not a NSD for me…I was lazy last night so failed to sort some lunch o take with me to work.
I did take breakfast though so I could have spent more!
Took advantage of an offer at work, bought a cast iron casserole dish which was £40. However, with the myWR card it was half price. £20. Bargain. Wait, with my discount on top I got it for just under £10. Winning. It's belated Christmas present for a sibling…
I now have the next week off work and plan on getting things organised; money (sort out current accounts), myself (dentist and hair…hair is desperate!), car (wash it…) and food (baking, cooking meals and filling the freezer)
Roll on payday!0 -
Hi All
Late check in here.
Dawn - how do you never find interesting things in your litter? I always do! Surely there must be some reciepts in among the Mcdonalds cups
Money saving things done. Scanned 3 reciepts into both shopping apps 6p for free.
Batch cooked meal 1 for dinner so less gas used for cooking today.
NSD 12 of the month. Aiming for 21.
Checked credit card statement. I am so sad but I love seeing all the extra lines showing payments made. Almost filled a whole page last month. Ok they were all small PADS but still.
Dealt with the mail as soon as it arrived. Less clutter generated.
Walked 2 miles around and about with the buggy.
Checked online banking. All as expected.
Princess - I've been hearing about Blue Monday all day. I remember when it first became a thing. It's only around 5 years old I think. Such a load of cobblers. Every human is different. I feel no less happy today than any other. .

Ha ha - I was thinking about blue monday too. Apparently it's because it's still a week or two until pay day and everyone's Christmas credit card bills are in. The people who are blue should join in with the small things - we'd cheer 'em up.

Hi everyone
Thank you all so much for thinking of me and for your kind words. I almost feel like a bit of a fraud:o:o but I was SO worried this morning about this meeting. I've actually had a pretty good day at work, and went into the meeting all ready to fight, and they were really quite nice to me. Put me on the back foot a little bit but basically I'm doing well and keep up the good work. So all that worrying and stress for nothing... And all my own fault.
There's still work to do, but I know I can hold my head up and know I'm doing the best I can with what I have.

Bought 4 new tires for my car, first replacements in the 6 1/2 I've had the car :j bought them from a local firm, rang a few places first regarding price and they are the cheapest locally, which pleased me as they are a firm I like using.
Lego mum I often do that with porridge, sometimes I need to add more liquid when reheating.
Oakdene That will be some saving over the year
JHiggins I'm not sure how often you need to submit your meter reading per year often only 2 or 4 times a year, depending on your contract, I used to submit monthly but this year I am aiming for weekly so I can nip an excess use in the bud early.
