Morning all!
Haven't read the weekend's thread yet, but hope you're all ok, particularly CCL.
Very achey Twiggy here! I did a 15km mud run yesterday with virtually no training! I had said before hand that I may only do 5km or 10km - but the stubborn (and MSE) side of me said that as I had signed up and paid for the 15k I would complete the course!
Today I have/will:-
* Check banks
* Eat breakfast
* Put running clothes that have been soaking overnight on a 30 degree ecowash
* Take lunch to work
* Check FPL
* Update work expenses
* Email payroll
* Charge phone in work
* Re-find recipe I looked at last week for dinner tonight as will only need a few bits
* Print recipe at work
* Shop to list of bits for dinner
* "Womble" envelope and stamp from work and POST MORTGAGE PAPERWORK!
* Dinner from stores (well, mostly from stores!)
* Put trainers in a bucket to soak
* Maybe do some housework if I can still move!
Hope you all have a good day.Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Hello Monday Money Savers,
Good start to the day, but running out of steam now. Have been preparing for a meeting tonight & could feel my energy levels starting to drop......will make some cheese on toast after kicking my daily post in. Money saving stuff:
*Laundry dried overnight on heated airer using cheap tariff. Will be doing the same again tonight.
*Rubber Chicken duties. Impressed myself this time - It did roast dinner yesterday, I've done chicken slices in gravy to freeze for a free roast dinner later in the month, plus divvied up the rest to make chinese chicken rice, a mexican-style spicy pizza & some stew this week. It's also made sandwiches for tomorrow's packed lunch & I've got all the gribbly bits in the slow cooker percolating down into stock. The garden birds are tucking into the chopped up fat, so a free meal for them too.
*Sold a small ebay item overnight.Have wrapped in recycled packaging from my stash. Re-listed another item.
*Did a few surveys.
*Entered a competition.
*Washed hair & let it dry naturally to save a bit of electricity. Used a free sachet of conditioning oil/cream. Doesn't feel like it's done much, but hey, it was free.
*Received reply to my email to energy company about lack of the promised goodwill payment. I don't know why the advisor I spoke to last month told me that it would be fine to have my payment transferred from my energy account to my bank account & that it would take 14 days, as he had quite clearly done sweet b*gger all about it! Apparently I have to provide an energy reading in 7 days time then it can be transferred. Sent another email to explain the irony of receiving poor customer service regarding communications........while trying to sort out a goodwill payment to compensate me for.......poor customer service regarding communications. It's getting ridiculous!
*Have refused to put out any new meat for cat this morning. he had half a dish of Waitrose tuna-stink left, but just fancied something new, as usual, so every time I opened the fridge, he appeared, doing his best to look like starving waif. No chance, matey.
OK, that will do me for today. I'd wanted to make a start on making my marmalade but have postponed it till tomorrow so I can get lots of odds & sods of jobs done.
Love to all.
CCL - hope that meeting goes OK.

Good afternoon all
I'm really under the weather today, had to call in sick to work which I HATE doing I always feel really guilty but feeling the way I do there's no chance I could have made it in.
Today I will chase up Moore's regarding a door and door handle for our integrated washing machine and dish washer.
Also need to phone Next, I was attaching a handle to the glass door of our new wardrobe and done so with an electric drill (stupidly) should have thought about it really but that's smashed so am phoning to order a new one.
My CC balance has updated online I've dipped under the £1000 mark and currently sit at £979.78 (small milestone!)
I'll get to work on updating my signature now as I've been really lazy with it.
Need to also remember to submit some meter readings (how often do you all submit them? New homeowner sorry)0 -
Afternoon, might not seem much but I am not going to the garage next to work for lunch, its usually like a magnet as you can get junk food but Ive not been over there for over a week which saves almost £5 a day!!Dwy galon, un dyhead,
Dwy dafod ond un iaith,

It's been a frustrating morning in our house today - it's officially 'Grumpy Baby Day'. There's a day for everything else and DS2 is claiming his today!!
Hey ho. I'm still on the DFW trail and so today will be:A low spend day. Just £1 for baby group this morning.
Check bank to see how we can get through till pay day without using the emergency fund - it's my last month of zero pay on maternity and it's killing us.
A run to the tip to get rid of a load of junk that can't be sold.
Organising a vets appointment for the dog and a drs appointment for the OH
Debating if the pet insurance is worth it at £50 a month...
Starting this week's online food shop according to the menu plan.
Think that's it for me today. Have a good one everyone!

Morning all, thanks for starting Ally
Twiggy - my friend keeps asking me to do a mud run with her but I've done no training so I'm worried in case I pass out or something! How did you get on?
Bob - Thanks for your kind words yesterday re. not being too hard on myself for spending. At least now it is considered spending I suppose and not just mindlessly hammering the credit card!
NSD today
All meals from stores
Banking checked. Paid credit card in full and this month its looking like I won't touch it at all :beer:
FPL and surveys to check
We had our first RSVP for the wedding from someone at work which was nice
Today is meant to be "Blue Monday" - the most depressing day of the year so make sure you all plan something nice to do today! We might squeeze a cinema trip in tonight with the unlimited cards if possible02 0% £719.20 £649.26

Evening all!
@Oakdene - £5/day is £100/month of Mondays to Fridays, £1200/year (or a pretty decent holiday) so not a small saving at all
Today:FINALLY, my accounts are up to date and the computer's running forecasts.
Lodger phoned from the UK to say the boiler had gone bang. Diverter valve is stuck. So there goes £180 *sigh*
Managerium made the office a lovely place to be today
12 days to payday
1 down, 5 to go (I work 6 day weeks) :beer:0 -
I forgot - my car has been booked into the garage for early February for new break pads and suspension brush arms. It'll cost somewhere in the region of £100 to £200 so I'm going to put £50 of my birthday money back into my savings pot (more if I can before the end of the month). I'm also selling my sofa to a friend for £100 so I think I'll use this money for the garage rather than putting it in the wedding pot. That just leaves £50 to pay for next month (worst-case)02 0% £719.20 £649.26
