Good luck with the PIP assessments. Ours was better than I thought so fingers crossed. Pigpen my DS is sitting upstairs in his bedroom on his own. He has voluntary work one day this week but thats it. If only we could find him a part time job that he could manage.

Sorry to be a bit glum. I have cleaned the worktops and tidied my tin cupboard. Off to wash the floor and wipe the cupboards down next.

I've done fuzz all .. drank tea, 2 school runs.. and now I want a nap!.. not even any knitting.. nothing.

DS3 was kicked out of bed at 2:45 to watch Dot while I did the school run with Pixie... I cant even remember when he last left the house for something other than an appointment.. which are currently weekly.

Dizzy.. Squeak was a lovely sweet child.. though she does whine heaps.. Dot is an absolute holy terror.. constantly. Pixie is copying Dot but is actually a really lovely sweet little thing. We all have a horrid one.. I have 3, its my own fault for having so many!!

    Just back from work
This mornings orthodontist appt was NOT good!!!! Ds2 has not been wearing his retainer so his teeth have started slipping back, I have tried, reminding cajoling nagging but none have worked so far. Today's wake up call was do you want to continue with the treatment and keep your teeth in the position they are now in or let them slide back. IE are you actually going to wear the retainer in future. Because it doesn't fit properly because of lack of use and not following instructions, we have to pay for the new retainer which is £90 and because I have to take him back next week to get it fitted I have a £35 round trip in a taxi to look forward to. Wasn't going to vent I front of the dentist and was too annoyed to let rip before we dropped him off at school, but he will be told in no uncertain terms tonight this is the last chance if he wants straight teeth he is the one who has to be grown up enough to put it in at night. All night and every night. Dh looking for the bright side said at least it will come out of the money we 'saved' yesterday combining our tax allowances. Almost glad Dh used half a day of his hols to save us the taxi money and come with us as I wouldn't want to have made the decision of spending that amount on my own.
    And breathe........

Having coffee then going to make a start on food prep and kitchen cleaning.

    Hope all are well
Hope tomorrow's pip assessments go ok,
Hugs to anyone who needs one.

Feeling pretty ok about my progress today. Having a list really helps keep me motivated. I have struggled to do the simplest tasks recently and finally feel like I am coming out the other side. Helps that I don't have to worry about going back to work now DH has some work lined up.

Just got to get swimming kits ready for lessons in an hour and get the steamer out to do the floors. Think I'll leave the oven and utensils for today, totally not ready for that level yet. TBH DH will be amazed that I managed to do the washing up and put a wash on!
  • Ok, I'm going to give this a go!
I managed to get a half hour walk in during my lunch break, so one thing ticked.
Off now to tackle the kitchen list, I'll check in later probs about 2am by the time I've finished that lot lol

    Afternoon all.

    Update:
[STRIKE]- Weekly finance check and 1p a day payment
    - Phone dentist (at their request) to rearrange appointment
    - Phone a friend
    - 09.30 out with DH to U3A Canals group meeting and New Year's lunch [/STRIKE]
    - Tidy and clean bedrooms - have done our bedroom but not the one I use as a study
[STRIKE]- Put away clean washing which is currently airing in the bathroom[/STRIKE]
    - Clean bathroom
    [STRIKE]- Empty upstairs bins[/STRIKE]
    - Continue typing up notes from meeting - it would be good if I could finish them today!
    - WPCU meeting in the evening

Could have done better if I hadn't needed a sleep this afternoon - I simply couldn't keep my eyes open :o - but any progress is better than none. It's too dark to see to clean properly now, but with all upstairs rooms now tidy it should only be a 10-minute job to clean through first thing after breakfast tomorrow :p

CY, I have been thinking of you and sending you posivibes x
I will be doing the same tomorrow for pigpen's DS3 and Lame Wolf - (((hugs))) to both.
Glad you're feeling a bit brighter today, Dizzy. I didn't have one particularly naughty child - but mine regularly used to gang up on me in twos :rotfl:

    :bdaycake:
Lynnejk, sorry I missed your birthday yesterday - Many Happy Returns!

I have just rung DD to check that the gift for DGS2 arrived safely (it has) - he is 6 tomorrow, and is very excited about spending the morning at the local fire station with his class. Instead of taking cakes to school for his friends, he and DD have made and iced a cohort of gingerbread firemen - I think he is taking some to the fire station too :D

DH and I had a very early lunch so I am now starving and must get tea early. Fortunately it's only cold roast from Saturday night and lots of veg. I want a good result at weigh-in tomorrow ;)

    Catch up later x
  • Mumof2 if I am honest this has been creeping up on me for about 6 months. Maybe I should go to the docs, its just last time I was put straight on medication without any opportunity to try anything else. Not that there is anything wrong with medication but it would have been nice to get some other help as well. I dont know why I am so anxious at the moment but as you know there is no logic to it!

MrsMp my DS was told at 16 that he really needed braces but the dentist said there was no point in following it through unless he was committed to it - which he said he wasnt. Hope your DS sees sense!

I have got a committee meeting to go to tonight so I am making myself go, even though I dont really want to.

Oh and welcome Shell. You will find lots of lovely people on here, and we do get quite a bit of cleaning done in between all the chatter.

Wonder how CY has got on?

Yorkshire lass ours had the same convo with his dentist before he was referred, he did the block retainer thing and had the brace in for about a year but once he had the results he wanted and moved on to the retainer he thought he knew best, he's come home from school suitably chastened I've had a talk about how I accept spending the money if he's learned his lesson and will put the new retainer in but he's gone upstairs for a sulk now so I think I'll let it drop and hope he has learned a lesson from it.
