Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Thank you Dusty for last week's thread

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

Some of our abbreviations: DH- dear husband, OH- other half, KH/CF- affectionate term for ex husband or partner ;) DS/DD- dear son/daughter, DGC- dear grandchild, WM- washing machine, DW- dishwasher, LR/DR- living/dining room, RoD- room of doom, Mr S/A/T/M/L/Al- supermarkets Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi. You get the picture!

    Evening all

Thank you for last week's thread Dusty and thank you Natty for this week's

I am not surprised about how you are feeling Dizzy - you have had an enormous amount of upheaval to contend with and atm it seems things will go on forever.

Could you arrange to go away for a long weekend in a few week's time ?? It would give you something to think about and plan and then to look forward to a few days of relative calm.

I also think that if you feel like having a d*mn good howl about it all it would probably do you some good. I'm sure your DH would understand.

    Thanks for threads, I'm in.
Dizzy I echo everyone else, you have a lot to deal with. Nothing wrong with crying on your own, we're all giving you a virtual cuddle. There was an article in the paper yesterday as to how kids are growing up with too many choices, parents trying to be BFF instead of setting boundaries and expecting things. Easy for me to say as I don't have any kids, but maybe you need to re-state 'caravan boundaries ' as life is different for all of you at present.
JJ hope DH gets well soon.

Don't think I 'checked in' yesterday, but Mr N and I got a load of long-standing things done in town; silly stuff like taking ink cartridges to a recycler, taking old conservatory chairs to cs then buying more (from cs), looked round a couple of sales then he did gardening while I did a report.
We had snow this morning, didn't hang around for too long but it was pretty to look out at. Cold walking to church.
    - one load of washing on
    - I'm making good progress with the tax return, have nearly got all bits of paper together and already duplicating certain lists in preparation for next year's (how about I make a target to do 'next years' in May???). Should get it all on the computer and pinged off tomorrow.

Had a million phone calls from my mum yesterday but we have finally booked a cruise for April, so gives an even better incentive for my fitness/weight plan. Still inputting details onto Myfitnesspal. Won't get to gym tomorrow as my back aches a bit (over ambitious with burpees in last Friday's Body Attack) and I also had a last minute call asking if I could do a private assessment asap so I'm doing it tomorrow, so have paperwork to sort out.

Tomorrow will be mainly lounge/dining room/hall so the student coming for assessment won't be too disgusted; then tax return; then reports.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

    Morning all.... early morning!

(((Hugs))) Dizzy It's bad enough with small children in a house when the weather is bad, or coping with them in a caravan for a week - I can't imagine what it would be like to be living in one permanently. I haven't forgotten about meeting up with you, just been a bit snowed under here (but not literally!).

Nice to see you posting, Froddy.
Hope your DH is home soon, JulieJim.
Glad your cat came back, MMM.

    Today's list:
[STRIKE]- Weekly finance check and 1p a day payment[/STRIKE]
    - Phone dentist (at their request) to rearrange appointment
    - Phone a friend
    - 09.30 out with DH to U3A Canals group meeting and New Year's lunch
    - Tidy and clean bedrooms (have filed loose paperwork this evening)
    - Put away clean washing which is currently airing in the bathroom
    - Clean bathroom
    - Empty upstairs bins
    - Continue typing up notes from meeting - it would be good if I could finish them today! A bit of progress has been made over the weekend.
    - WPCU meeting in the evening

(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round x

    Morning all

Lynne - hope you had a lovely birthday yesterday

Thanks for all the well wishes for DH, hopefully he will be home today.

First job for me today is a HHI as I need to iron the uniforms. No more snow overnight so no chance of a snow day. I need to go to cubs tonight as we have a presentation so I won't get a lot of chance to do stuff then.

Oh well, have a good day all
