Haggling with BT?

I know some companies are known for being ok for when you call up come renewal time & say you want a better deal whereas others are just so tight they wont budge an inch.

Just wondering how BT are on this?

I've slacked a little & i'm now in to the 2nd year - outside of the promotion charge of £10 a month & on to i think £20+ per month now.

New customers seem to be getting it at £12.50 per month.

Oh & i'm on the broadband & calls deal.

They'll have heard all the "well i'll cancel then" talk before no doubt, so how do you generally approach this (having never done it before)?

  • I was on unlimited fibre 2 and anytime calls (no longer in contract), but with line rental saver til March 2016. Apparently these contracts are considered separately

I called and stated prices were cheaper with talktalk, got offered fibre 1 unlimited with anytime calls for just over £19

I left it a few days, called again today told them about Sky's fibre offerings, and was given fibre 1 unlimited with anytime calls for £15.85 on a 12 month contract.
