Sky not picking up signal since electric went off

Yesterday we had our boiler replaced, we had to switch off the electric whilst it was connected and once the electric was switched back on now our sky is not working.
We get a message saying that there is no signal being received by the hd box, we have rebooted the system, switched it off and back on again to no avail, rung sky who want to charge us £65 to send someone out to fix (can't afford it now as have massive boiler bill!)
We have 2 hd boxes, both have the green lights on and working fine, Sky say it's probably the weather, but the weather where we live is fine and as we have had no signal for almost 24 hours now, there's obviously an issue somewhere
Can anyone suggest anything?

1) Check that the Sky cable is firmly in place
2) Check that the tv is still set to the correct input for Sky.
3) Look to see whether your dish has been moved or is covered with ice.0 -
Seems strange that it coincides with your boiler repair... did the plumber have to do any outside work (flue etc) near your dish? It's highly unlikely that it was the electricity going off that caused this on 2 separate boxes... it's either your dish alignment, dish covered in 'something', or the connection between the dish and the boxes...0

Thanks, the sky dish is not near where the boiler install is as that's in a separate outbuilding from the house
We have had issues before when we've had a power cut and have to reboot the system, but that has usually solved it, not this time though, we haven't had any ice. There is nothing on the dish that I can see but will check the cablingAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -
Check if the boxes are receiving a signal.
Press Services. Options should be highlighted in Yellow at the top
Press the Right button (beside Select) once to highlight Settings.
Then press Down button (below Select) once and Right button 3 times to highlight Signal.
Check that the boxes are showing a decent Signal Strength and Signal Quality on both Inputs and that Lock Indicator shows OK on both.0 -
As stated above, check the TV Source has not defaulted to the default input, which would be tuner. My guess is that TV was on when the power was switched off and this has reset the source to the internal Freeview tuner. Though if you have two TV's the same would have to have happened on both, which seems less likely.
Assuming you can get Freeview via an aerial, check if you can get any channels on either TV from that source-that will rule out any TV fault.
Both boxes working will then mean it's the dish, cabling or LNB at fault.
If still nothing works, and if you are out of minimum term, call Sky and ask to cancel because you can't make it work and can't afford a service call-that always results in the offer of a free service call.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Initial thoughts were blown LNB-though unlikely.
There no guarantee that the electricity switching off caused nss rec'.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -

There is no signal strength or signal quality at all, Lock indicator says 'not locked'Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -

Unfortunately we don't have an aerial so can't receive freeview, were watching catch up through hubby's ps4 at present
Yes the tv was on when we had the power cutAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -
If you can 'borrow' a neibours dig box and connect it to your dish input cable whilst home, changed to 501 sky news, if the nss message is the same it will let you know its a dish problem. If not then its you dig box.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0
