Can i cancel my BT Broadband?

Ive had bt broadband for less than three months (on a 12 month contract)
I am moving house and the guy has warned us that the bt broadband has rubbish speeds (less than 1m/bit) Is there any way i can cancel my contract early so that i can join a cable provider?
Any Help would be appreciated
