The OP who re-gifted a nearly out of date Chocolate Orange to her BIL for his 30th wasn't a troll, just someone who was baffled why a poundshop treat she passed on wasn't appreciated.
And the BIL is now 31 and probably still isn't speaking to her.
Or perhaps he gave her poundshop washing up gloves as her house-warming gift because he had a savings plan he wanted to stick to.0 -

cracking soundtrack from Badly Drawn BoyI'm a greenfield sight for sore eyes, and sore eyes are just needing the light, the shapes, and the shadows of the space we share, before it splits into Thin Air.0

I think I know what you mean by 'wired differently'. This guy is so used to women being put off by this he probably expects you to 'drop him'.
Please, think very carefully here - can you envisage living with this guy every day and NOT getting frustrated, angry or peed off?
When he finally trusts and gives his heart its going to be for life - are you prepared for that?
if you genuinely like him and his 'quirks' and know he is for you - then by all means let him know that.
and good luck - let us know how things turn out.0 -

The OP did post this:halfaperson wrote: »if I haven't made my situation clear please feel free to ask questions and I will elaborateI'm confused.
Are you seeing this guy or not?
What do you mean by 'go and claim him'?
Did you think my question was 'tearing the OP apart'?0
