Good morning everyone.
After my really good sleep the other day last night I tossed and turned most of the time. Woke properly at 7ish and then fell asleep again.
There's a very sharp frost outside too, think the grass is crunchy.
Red ruby - the filling should be all the way round. It's best to get a duvet with pockets rather than channels of filling. With channels the filling moves away and ends up lumped, pockets keep the filling in place and evenly distributed.
Yesterday I did a big white wash, loads of knickers and towels, so it's still on the airers, won't be long now. Food was some of the mince I made earlier, there's still about three days worth to get through. I'm determined not to freeze it as I want to empty the freezer and use up stuff that's been there for ages.
Today there's a consultation about funds from a wind farm company which is giving it to the community. It won't be a long meeting but I want to go.
Too much rabbiting...
JackieO - enjoy your day of rest!
Laniey - there's a riding school fairly nearby (in rural terms) and three or four horses are ridden around here every day. It's lovely to hear the clip-clops coming, I always go to the front door to wave and say 'hello'. Horses are much lovelier than cows.
I hope everyone has a good Saturday.0

            Morning all, (just)
Very icey here, but bright - cold and sunny I can deal with
Been to collect car as last night turned into a proper night out
My veg box was delivered yesterday, and has some lovely bits, so will make some squash soup and Jerusalem Artichoke soup for our lunches, cauliflower cheese to accompany roast pork tomorrow, with Cavelo Nero and roast spuds and carrots. There is a swede and some sprout too, so they will go with some sausages later this week - yummmm.
DS 1's 22nd birthday today - where did that time go! He's on the mainland with his GF and friends for a weekend - feels strange not to have him here to celebrate, but I guys I need to get used to that
Enough of my waffle - I,m off to sort some lunch and bung some washing in.
Stay safe and warm all XNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

            Afternoon
I am taking a lunch break from housework so thought I would have quick read and post on here. Cold and bright here today, have stood washing on airer outside on patio, not sure it will dry but better than being indoors all day and I didn't freeze stood outside pegging it all on the line. DS emptied dishwasher before he went off to work a short while ago, he won't be home until dinner time so I'm going to give his room a bit of a blitz and then put all the crockery I find there in the DW. By the time we've had dinner things in it will be ready to go on again. Dinner tonight will be hm pizza and hm sweet potato fries. He will as usual be starving when he gets in. Once I've finished my lunch which is just a sandwich, I am going to wash down the walls in my hallway. With recent wet weather they have got bit grubby and will look better for a wipe down. Not much else planned for today, my night out is next week not this one so night in front of the tv I think. Have a good day all, keep warm.Thoughts to all. Mrs D.

It's snowing! Not very hard and it's too wet on the ground to lay but it's still snow. It's not often we get snow here, mostly rain and storm and gale.0

            Morning (? ) all!
Well, I have 2 Big Jobs to sort this weekend. One was to sort out the freezer and log contents, so that we can use up some of the bits and pieces and dispose of past it items. Not many of those, just a portion of pea and ham soup that was disgusting!
Turkey stock with veg in has been got out and used as a soup for lunch, last of the black pud will do for brunch tomorrow, several odds and ends to go for our curry night tonight. All quite satisfactory. WIll make a couple of fresh dishes as well. Spicy rice and some raita. Also home onion bhaji-esque fritters. We don't deep fry here as a rule.
The second big job is to clear the understairs cupboard in a first floor bedroom. It was dd's room and had a load of stuff in it, Christmas decs live in there, loads of old kids paperbacks from when I was teaching, along with my childhood books. Loads of DD's 'batterie de cuisine' she brought back from Uni, camping stuff, then ds went and piled his stuff in there when he came back from Uni as well. Hell hole, doesn't quite describe it!
I shall look forward to getting to the end of that task! It's hard going for dd to be living back here with all her 'stuff'. Seems unlikely that she will be able to live independently in the near future (has CFS/ME), but maybe son will get a job and move away. I won't hope about that too hard, as he's being very helpful at home and with taking his grandma back and forth to the hospital for radiotherapy. Almost half way , done 12/25.
Other than that I don't plan to do any work, just catch up on washing and ironing and general tidying up.
Have been following 'declutter 365' for the last couple of weeks. Printed out the January calendar and been working on that stuff, not necessarily on the correct days. Some things had only been done recently. A useful framework.
Enjoy your weekend folks!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

            Good afternoon everyone,
Dry and sunny here but very cold!!!
Have been so busy and tired this week, so haven't posted. I am feeling less tired today as had a lay in and a lazy morning, have been doing a bit of tidying up, but the house had a good clean on Thursday, so just a quick tidy up is needed. Washing on the airers and another load to do later.
Not sure what we will have for dinner, lots of bits to use up, so that will do:D. DD has a friend staying but she will be going later on as DD is working this evening, and DS will be going to work shortly as he is working until the pub closes this evening. DH is out working at the moment, but should be home soonish I hope. Last night he didn't get back until 11.30pm:eek: A very long day. At least he has tomorrow off, so we will both get a lay in.
I have my meal plan for the week and my shopping list, so will be going out to brave the cold shortly. Stay warm all and have a good Saturday. xSPC 11 #4450

            Afternoon all,
Had a late one this morning as Mossy got me up twice last night and then couldnt get back to sleep.....not going anywhere so makes no difference I suppose.
OH lifted his feet earlier to show me the holes inhis socks......he has dozens of pairs of socks so I brought him a cleanpair and put the others in the fire, so his socks are sorted for a while.
Very cold this morning, was bright earlier but is now grey and overcast, just hope that we have no snow, I hate the stuff!
Spoke to DD3 yesterday and she sent me pictures of the bridesmaids dress es she is telling her sistersthey will be wearing for her wedding......seems that DDs 3&4 will be getting married next year........help!
Good idea JackieO......you deserve at least one day off in the week.
Csarina, hope that OH feels better soon and that you manage to avoid the flu.
We had a tuna salad for brunch, really nice as we hadnt had any tuna for quite a while. Dinner might be pizza as neither of us will be feeling hungry until much later than we like to eat.
Have just seen 'our' squirrel leaping about in the front garden, that will relieve poor Mossy's anxiety, as he has been searching for him all over the back garden.
Enjoy the rest of yourweekend, stay close to home, keep safe and warm

DD came to drive me to get weighed at slimming club and I was so pleased to find I had lost over three pounds :j and a total of one and a half stone. A bit less chuffed when I worked out that to get to a BMI of overweight rather than obese I need to lose another stone.
Middle dd has come over for a day or so and I am enjoying having the company. Planning a stir fry for lunch and mince and tatties for tonight and bought hanger steak from the butcher for tomorrow's lunch when most of the family will be over.
Bitterly cold here but no snow. I have a couple of letters and forms to post but not sure if it is too icy to venture out or not.
