I'm going to have 2 new tyres fitted and just ordering and booking on line , there's a further option for wheel alignment 2 or 4 wheel. I've hit a few pots holes so I suspect they need alignment, but I'm not sure if I need 2 or 4 wheel ?

Ford Fiesta 2014 reg btw

what is the price difference between the two ?

if it is not a great difference then go for four if price is an issue just go for two wheel alignment

Two wheel alignment? This is nonsense......... You can't align the fronts without having the the rears lined up, else the car will "crab".

What they're doing is offering half a job in order to look competitive and get customers in, knowing most drivers would pay for the "full alignment".

I suspect that it would be check the tracking on the front wheels or check the alignment on all four

Yes, but the front tracking is taken in reference to the alignment of the rear wheels. At least it is on most laser alignment machines (hunter etc).

proper hunter four wheel alignment check and adjustment will cost around £70.00 - £100.00 if it is done properly

I am not sure i would want the likes of kwik fit or halfords messing with the alignment or tracking on my car because many of them cant even torque a wheel nut correctly and and just bang them on with a windy gun

Four wheel would mean adjusting all four wheels as your ford has a beam axle at the back there is no adjustment. Edit I can't remember looking under a 2014 but I'm sure it's a beam axle.

Not all cars have adjustable rears.

Now you have me confused and I hate tracking

Two wheel track = laser things on front wheels flag things on back to adjust the front wheels
4 wheel track same as above then swap the laser things to the back and flaggy things to the front to adjust the rear

Super tracker, hunter it's all the same the hunter tells you what you need to do a monkey can do it, super tracker you have to use skill and be able to add the reading on the flags and then divide them by 2

so the rears are non adjustable but the tyre place still charges you for checking the alignment and telling you it is all OK

sound like a nice little money making scheme

Rear camber is usually adjustable and sometimes the toe.
