Time sheets and deduction of wages (absence)

What's the deal with times sheets?
I was late a few times because of school runs which I informed manger of. Had a sneekey peek at one of the time sheets and it has been marked as late, there is also six more lates which I know nothing about and I have been deducted 9 hours as a result with no notice.
How can the area manager just deduct from my wages from a time sheet that is hidden from me, one that I don't get to sign to confirm that it is correct? Edit:- bottom of the sheet there is space for my signature and the managers
This is on top of other issues such as lack of ppe of welding and breach of contract

Good on them! You shouldn't be paid if you aren't there!
Top marks to the employer on that occasion0 -
There was a thing on judge rinder about time sheets only last week (think part of the new series) in a good way for you

2nd part of Wednesday 6th Jan I think x0 -

I am going to guess that you have less than two years employment? So, regardless of what should or should not be signed, you have had a number of latenesses which is going to make it kind of hard to show that the other times were also not late attendance, and your "evidence" is a "sneaky peek". I'd suggest another job. Preferably one that you can get to on time, because several late attendances, whether you get paid or not - well, that is the sort of thing employers dismiss over.0 -
Wow, so the six lates I know nothing of ie I was at work on time and not paid 9hrs for Yeah top marks. Don't know if you read my post or want to win t @t of the year award:huh:
Top marks for taking money off you for time you missed due to doing "the school run" - pure cheek expecting to get paid for time away from work!!
BUT if they have incorrectly filled out a time sheet, stating that you were absent when you were in, then you have a point (and your OP wasn't clear whether this was the case or not).0 -
Why should I look for another job? Also you guessed wrongI am going to guess that you have less than two years employment? The lates are nothing to do with me I as far as I'm aware have been on time every day unless I had to do the school run which in that month add up to 1hr 2x 30mins so the other 8 hrs?0 -

Never expected to get paid for time I'm not at work in fact the pure cheek is the employers with the amount of time I have worked though my unpaid break or worked past my contracted hours. In fact this is not logged on the time sheet.
And I did say I was late a few times doing the school run and I also said 6 lates that I know nothing about.0 -

"As far as you are aware" isn't exactly a convincing piece of evidence that you were on time. But that isn't the point. It's no use asking me to explain your timesheet. You will have to ask your manager to explain your timesheet. And explain that "sneaky peek". And you didn't answer the question - two years or not? Because if not, rocking the boat may not be the best way to keep your job if you have a whole lot of things to pick over with the employer, as you seem to indicate. The more problems you find, the less likely you are to remain in the employment.
And actually, it isn't ok to be late for work whatever the reason is. Late is late.
If this job isn't to your liking, find yourself another one before they decide to show you the door. It may not be "right", but it is the most likely result.0 -
Being late due to the school run still counts due to being late! Argue the toss if you have been marked down as being late when you have not been.
Do not muddy the water about working through breaks - that is your choice0 -
Ok poor choice of words, I have been on time that better? What are you an employer? Seem hell bent on giving me a lecture. let me tell you I don't care if late is late and there's no excuse if I have to take time off for my child I will they can try and stop even try to make my live hell my family will come first"As far as you are aware" isn't exactly a convincing piece of evidence that you were on time.
