EE is continuing as an independent unit , as is BTs own mobile offering
I cannot see them turning business away and Deutsche telecom are owners of the virgin mobile brand and now BTs largest shareholder at 14% when this goes throughEx forum ambassador

Virgin Mobile UK and V Media brand trademarks is leased by USA Delaware company, Virgin Media (UK) Group Inc, a US division of Liberty Global who has their head office in London.
EE shops will become BT to show off their quadplay services, BT has no retail footprint so it will use EE stores, you dont pay £12 billion not to use retail stores to plug your own brand, BT Mobile has been advertising since the merger was announced. BT stores will be all over the high st just as Voda, Three, Virgin and o2 are and as Talk Talk are doing.
Merger will close the last week of Jan.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Oops I forgot to say^ the Virgin brand licensing deal was for a 30 year term, I cant recall if that was from NTL/Telewest merger or the Liberty Global sale, but I do recall it a 30 year term.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... Thanks Diamond- I didn't even notice the BT & EE mobile outage as I already hyave such carp signal with them
And after reading today about the merger, I looked this morning at my BT mobile and I still have only 1-2 bars of signal! So I'm not holding my breath?
I signed up to BT years ago because they pretended to offer something called 'Fusion Mobile' which promised mobile connection via your BT broadband to overcome signal problems.
I needed that as their then network partner Vodaphone's coverage was carp in my SE London street. FUSION never worked and they soon dropped it.
I stuck with them through inertia, and because they offer a really cheap £5 per month contract... but when they switched from Vodaphone to EE the coverage round here got even worse; less EE ('Everything Everywhere') and more like 'F A Anywhere'
Whereas when I go to Spain and Italy I get great mobile signal, even in the valleys and tops of the Pyrenees and Appenines! So they must be doing something we can't quite manage, here on the north faces of Blackheath Common and Greenwich park!
And while we're giving BT a kicking...

A pity really, cause I rather like my voice and online chats with the kids in their Mumbai and New Delhi call centres! I even got a £60 reduction in my mobile bill from one of them the other day after boring them into submission; after 30 minutes they realised that was the only way to get rid of me.0 -

Should be getting BT Wifi Calling when they rebrand EE Wifi Calling, its selected handsets on the EE website.
I have very poor EE coverage at home due to solid brick walls in my 30 year old apartment, but all the others are the same, I once had to usb voice modem in a carrier bag sealed with tape hanging out the window in all weathers just to get 3G :rotfl: neighbours must have thought I was a gypsy :rotfl: I am in a major city on a slight hill and have almost line of sight to old Orange base station to no avail even 2G is poor, o2, Voda and 3 all share a site almost parallel north further up the gradual hill 100 metres away but devices struggle 2/3/4G as the signal goes over my apartment and gives great coverage the other side of the river lol
Given the issues I have EE resellers as they are the cheapest, a back up Voda/TalkMobile(new) and old BT Genie sim, not one network would give me a picocell Signal Box on contract because they expect me to walk to the main road 1 minute away for a signal where calls dont break up!
I hope BT give free diversions to BT landlines from EE mobiles, because the network is poor when calls fall back to 2G/3G, T-Mobile 2G and Orange 3G were terrible, two wrongs do not make a right mErgEr for customers signal issues.
PS) The merger completes last week of Jan, any signal improvements by BT will be after that.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... I doubt it, BT are going to be running BT Mobile as the low cost option to EE, it won't be getting the extras like WifiCalling until that changes. So they'll have BT mobile and EE??
Yes. Think of BT Mobile as being Giffgaff and EE being o2.====0
