    But a bike is designed to be ridden. If the pedals turn the wheels and the brakes stop the wheels then its fit for purpose.

    Never heard something so ludicrous that a bike isnt fit for purpose because it breaks when dropped.

    For a small child, one such purpose is 'learning to ride a bike'.

    Always a sign someone is losing a discussion when the resort to sly digs.

    Nonsensical argument. A bike is a bike. Thats why they have balance bikes and stabilisers. As already mentioned, it all depends how the bike drops.

    How many drops should a childs bike withstand then? How about an adult learning to ride on an adults bike?
