Cheapest way to call abroad using a mobile now that O2 has stopped 08 numbers.

What is the cheapest way to call abroad now that O2 has stopped 08 numbers in its inclusive minutes?

I'm familiar with the 07744/07745 numbers using other mobile networks, but they seem to be about to end also.

As far as I can tell, the cheapest way is to use landline number routing with inclusive minutes, e.g.

Can anyone see any flaws with this or does O2 block this number?

Any better ways of routing calls?

Thanx

Yes, using landline (inclusive minutes) access numbers seems the cheapest at the moment. Although depending where you're calling, you should be able to find cheaper rates than the service you mention - and without having a separate monthly bill.

I'm currently using www.calltoabroad.com for 1p/min calls to Poland and France - to get credit I send a text message to purchase credit (which comes on my monthly mobile bill) or top up online - there are plenty of services like this - do a google search to find the best rate for where you're calling

How about getting a virgin contract and using 07744 numbers from them?

Theirs a number of options available.

It all depends on what network you are on,whether your on payg or contract with x-net minutes, what time of the day you want to call, and what destination you are trying to reach.;)

Sister company of 18866 www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php tends to be cheaper overall then 18866.

I'd look at callthrough (via London Manchester or Nottingham numbers) from Betamax brands like Voipcheap, JustVoip and DialNow - from 0.4p a minute to landlines, and well under 10p/min for most European mobiles (eg Poland 4p)

I've just got myself an N95 and I have looked at the Truphone website.

    http://www.truphone.com/more_info/what_does_it_cost.tru#free_countries

Assuming I am near a WiFi hotspot, can I make free calls? What's the catch?

    Thx
