Helpp! Serious Cashback Problem!!

hey guys,
I got a difficult one and need some advice.
A mobile phone firm on my local high street has supposedly closed down a few days ago and I just opened a contract with them on the 3rd august. Three wont let me cancel my contract and they (phone shop) were supposed to give me back £350! I tried ringing the shop on several numbers, their lines were busy all day all night, tried going to the shop but it just had its stutters up! Im a stressed out student and cannot afford to pay the money for the contract  PLEASE HELP!!
Thanks,
SD

if it has shut down, phone ofcom straight away, they will investigate it all for you and hopefully get your money back, dont hang about and do it as soon as possible

  • Is there not 28day money back on initial sign-up of contracts? or is it 14day? (either way i know he has to return to point of sale, which is gonna be hard) but just wandering.

I thought that only applied to mail order under distance selling laws...
  • Hey guys, just got off the phone to ofcom and they said they cant do anything, only just to log a complaint. The lady on the phone advised me to speak to consumer direct so i'll probably try that now.
I did try calling three to cancel my contract but they wouldnt let me as I already passed 14 days! I can cancel but by having to pay of the line rental for the year, costing me £367.50 in total!! I really need this money back!

There is no way round this - your contract with 3 is separate from any deal you did with the shop.

3 will still be paying the shop their commission for signing you up, and cannot be expected to let you off paying their bills.

See when 3 will allow you to downgrade your tariff to a cheaper monthly charge (usually after around 6 months).
