Building costs - Variations

Sounds to me like the builder is trying it on.
Extras would only be justified if the sanitaryware and tiling involved more work to fit/lay than a fairly standard quality product.
For instance if went out a bought a whirlpool bath it would take more work to install than a standard bath so the builder would be entitled to be paid for the extra time and any extra materials. If you bought small hand made rustic tiles that took longer to lay than standard tiles again the builder gets more money.
The cost of the items you bought is irrelevant it is the time and work involved in fitting them that is important.0 -
It reads to me like there should be a reduction of £900 for you.
£500 for sanitaryware, £400 for tiles.
Have you paid in full yet? Is the job finished yet?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
