Just had a new tesco open near me. I have gone shopping in the evening becasue i am off work, and their reduced items are amazing, amongst other things i got today a
pack of salmon fillets 50p reduced from 9.99
pack of Chicken breast 8.95 reduced form 16.99
Finest beef sirloin steak 1.86 reduced from 9.86
2 packs of fresh coley fillets 55p reduced form 2.55
kids wholemeal raps 10p reduced from 98p x 6 (froze those for packed lunches)
tonnes of fruit and veg reduced form full price to 10 and 11p

more steak for 52p

and loads of other bits and pieces.
I swear i am going to do this more often and shop in the reduced items section.

I am so chuffed with my shopping especially as i am broke this week.:T

The great thing about a new store opening is that it takes a while for them to get their ordering right, so enjoy it while it lasts!

Our local Asda reduces alot of meat especially on a Friday.

I went in a couple of weeks ago and got lamb chops, pork chops, chicken, steak etc etc. Spent £12 and ended up with enough meals for the 4 of us for just over 2 weeks. I only wish I had a chest feezer cos I'd have bought alot more.

One of the new Tesco stores near us still does reductions of this size 20 months after opening...I think the manager wants the stuff gone ASAP, so hopefully for you, they've started as they mean to go on!

I think you're perfectly safe freezing meat now for Christmas. The worst that has happned to me is that some high percentage meat expensive sausages tasted slightly 'gamey' so I made a rich gravy and they were fine. And that was after the best part of 6 months, I'm ashamed to say.
