Instructions on small plastic squeezable bottle (to inject the adhesive you squeeze bottle after cutting the tip. at the marked point)
' Ensure grove is clean and grease free. Shake bottle before use. Inject adhesive into groove and press rope into place.Light stove, close door and gradually increase heat temperature over a 30 minute period'

Further instructions on website to which there is no information or lead to on the bottle say
Remove woodburner door. Place door on large sheet.!!!!!

Any helpful advice would be appreciated

Okay here goes, I buy thermic seal glue in a plastic squeezy container. I read the instructions, apply the thermic seal, as directed, to my wood burner door and as I am doing so the plastic bottle cap flies off and deposits glue all over my two week old carpet. The wife is not happy to say the least, but, who is responsible for the clear lack of instructions on the item. Who do I contact to complain to, the manufacturer or the shop that sold the thermic glue, who do I take to court should it reach that conclusion. I have contacted the manufacturers who state that advice is available on their TV / video channel and on their web site but the thermic seal bottle label gives no indication of this whatsoever nor does it give a web address. Thanks in advance. :money:

Out of interest what do you want ? IIRC you're looking for a loophole in the (lack of) instructions to claim compensation for consequential loss therefore absolving yourself of any responsibility

Hindsight is great but the way to avoid the issue would be to employ someone to do the job and take the risk on your behalf
  • Most things I buy these days say something like, Keep Away From Children.

Not sure if they mean the product or me . .

I think employing someone to do a simple job like this is taking it a bit far but certainly if you ever do and sort of DIY involving any form of liquid, be it paint, glue, caulk or any other type always protect any surfaces in the surrounding area that you don't want damaged by spillages.
