BT You View Plus Box

Options
Any views on current BT You View Plus box or the Humax 2000 . Or is anyone aware of later versions of these boxes and or sales of such .
Just been asked the question by a friend and am not really up to-date on the boxes .
Primary reason for the purchase would be to record BT Sport as current YouView is the non recordable box .

Hi JJ, The latest YV HD box available is BTs T2100, or a retail T2000 (I have both). What platform is your friend currently on/with? As this will dictate what he can get, and who supplied the non-recorder box?

    Thanks Vision Man .
Platform BT TV free package with the standard BT You View Box .
He also has a Freeview recorder but that of course will not record BT Sport .

Have seen a BT Humax DTR T4000 1tb box new on ebay for £130.

Thats the Ultra HD 4K model, and the best.

As your friend is already signed up to the BT TV YouView channels he can buy a second box and then nominate it to become his main services box, and thereby record any of the channels they get including BT Sport.

Be weary that BT Sport relies on your internet service, so when (not if) your BT BB drops, you lose the channel.

As he has BT BB fibre 38 meg and has never had a dropout should be ok . Understood that with the latest box he would not get UHD without subscribing to that service . Latest price i found was 500gb BT/ Humax box at £149 Curry's and the 4000 box is on ebay for around the same price .

As an aside i also have BT Sport from BT since it started and yet to have a dropout .

Be wary, JJ - retail boxes are warranted, Ebay boxes are not. But if your feeling tired as well thats understandable. :)
