Paid for ticket, received fine, ticket blew over

Hi,
I paid for a car parking ticket in a private car park which is managed by UK Parking Control.
They seem to be a registered company.
The ticket machine asked me to enter my car registration, which I did.
Unfortunately when shutting the door it appears my ticket flipped over.
I have received a demand for £100 on my windscreen, reduced to 60 if I pay now.
Should I contest this? Surely the fact I have a ticket 15 minutes earlier than they checked with my reg number is good enough evidence?
Please help!

Did you miss the sticky 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THIS FIRST' which answers all your queries and provides the first appeal (blue text there) and then also tells you how to win at POPLA stage? Plus, it explains acronyms like POPLA, too.
Sticky threads are permanent info 'notices' at the top of any forum. Get there by clicking 'GO' next to FORUM JUMP, as explained in my signature below.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Fight it.
But first get told to read the newbies thread by those who could give you an easy answer, then spend months arguing with parking companies, and appeal boards, but above all next time always remember to look in your car after you've shut the door, if you can't see your own ticket, no one else can.0 -
I did look, but couldnt see anything specific about when youve actually paid for a ticket, unless I missed it as the thread is quite large!0

Of course you should. you entered the correct vrm into the ticket machine, paid for a ticket and placed it in your vehicle. Parking companies are well aware that their tickets blow over when the car door is closed - been happening for years ! This is one reason why those that used adhesive ones have now switched back to ones that sit on the dash - they make money for them !!
Follow the instructions given by C.M. to help you with your appeal.0 -

Rubbish. This is utter paranoia.
The sticky ones leave a complete mess on the screen. They always go on the dash for me.0 -

Of course it's a large thread, it tells people how and when to appeal two distinct types of private PCN and also covers the different situation re lease/hire cars and Scotland. And I'm a woman who can't use 10 words when 30 will do!!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks I have read the thread in detail, would be great to see some examples in that thread of people whom have paid for tickets using their reg number and had appeals won/lost for reference if their are any, very helpful thread so thanks for putting it together.
I have appealed it, not incriminated anyone and only referenced the registered keeper.
Also scanned both PCN and my actual ticket.
Fingers crossed to see what happens next!0 -
You've missed 'POPLA decisions' then, another top sticky thread right nextto the NEWBIES thread. Always read them first.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Looked at the first page, couldn't see anything obvious about decisions whereby a valid ticket was purchased and blew over, with number plate entered on the machine.
Unless its buried somewhere in the 97 pages!0 -
Sometimes you read this forum, and think either they are all smug know it alls, or simply patsies of the parking companies, placed here simply to wear you down until you give up and pay!0
