Help to buy ISA worthless as all houses in this area are more than 250000

Anyone else noticed this? I am married with 2 children, yet in the area we live in we would have to buy a 2 bed house to qualify for the bonus! Seems very unfair, we don't live in London yet are essentially paying London prices when it comes to housing!

If you're that desperate to buy then why not start with a two bed house? Move?"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

I live in Woodley just outside Reading, and even two bed terraces go for £250,000, with one bed houses at £200,000 if you want a decent area.
It's the reality of living somewhere more desirable unfortunately.0 -

How an earth are you connecting H2B ISA's to a) your personal circumstances and b) your perceived unfairness of house prices..?
Very few places match London for prices...0 -

In Leamington Spa near me they have a new build development where 2 bed terraces are going for £260,000 and they are tiny little things! Whereas 10 miles up the road in Coventry you could get a 3 bed semi for almost half that. Its just the way the market is unfortunately. You go where you can afford to buy.0

So you have the government giving you free money to join a scheme for free and your bitter and throwing your toys because you can't afford a house you want lolz

Yes there is.
I think what's inferred is how much help do you expect purchasing a property worth a quarter of a million pounds?0 -
Ok fair enough seems I'm in need of a reality check. Apologies.0
