Changing Broadband provider

Can anyone tell me if I can still use all the additions to my Sky TV subscription, such as download TV programmes films to my Sky HD box if I change my Broardband provider to another provider, but retain Sky TV. Thanks

The internet connection makes no difference whether its cable, phone line, mobile, satellite, wireless, leeched off somebody else... as long as your Sky box can get on the internet by hook or by crook it'll work.

When Sky on Demand first started it would only work on Sky Broadband but that hasn't been the case since 2012 and is provider independent.
  • Thanks your replies are very reassuring. Almost completed the research. Now on to the haggling. I'll update with the latest news as and when. As a pensioner every penny counts and understanding some of the offers and possible consequences can be a little overwhelming.

Don't accept any 10 month offers as the two months at full price hugely reduce the apparent discount.

Your best offer will probably be obtained by cancelling tv,then negotiating phone and broadband at a later date. cancelling tv is no problem as they can switch it back on instantly, unlike phone and broadband.
  • Thank you, that's the offer from Sky which I turned down!! It didn't make any sense to me to make an offer for 10 mths of a 12 month contract; as you say the extra 2 months full price are horrendous. Plusnet seem to be coming out best, so far, for the service I'm looking at getting.
  • Update, I followed the Sky haggling advice and got a twelve months deal with £14.79 reduction per month and new router at no extra cost. Happy for another year:-)
