Exeter to Essex via train

Hi guys, in March me and my friend want to go Essex for the weekend. Brentwood to be exact, I couldnt find any trains that go to Brentwood, where else is nearby that we can get a train to? Thanks

What I do is write down the times and directions then buy the tickets early as possible directly from the train station.

Only fools use the trainline.
