They're working on the line that weekend

Engineering work is taking place between London Liverpool Street and Ingatestone / Wickford with various line closures.

Abellio Greater Anglia services will not run between London Liverpool Street and Ingatestone / Southend Victoria / Southminster.

Valid tickets will be accepted on London Underground services between London Liverpool Street and Newbury Park. Buses will run between Newbury Park (London Underground station) and Southend Victoria / Southminster and also Ingatestone for train connections.

Trains that usually run between Braintree and London Liverpool Street will run between Braintree and Witham only.

An amended service will run between Marks Tey and Sudbury.

TfL Rail services between London Liverpool Street and Shenfield will be replaced by buses.

    Planning your Journey

For full details of the changes to Abellio Greater Anglia and the impact on your journey, please use the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner

The changes to TfL Rail are not currently shown in the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner, please check back nearer to the time of travel.

If the Liverpool Street line is closed then probably the most convenient station for Brentwood is Upminster, on the Fenchurch Street line. It's about 15 minutes away from Brentwood by taxi

That works, and you can get cheap train tickets too.
    Check it on train line.com
What I do is write down the times and directions then buy the tickets early as possible directly from the train station.
