Advice on getting to Gatwick airport

I was thinking of that combination.
If the worse comes to the worse and the Manchester train is a little late then a Taxi Euston/ St Pancras would not cost the earth. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0

And could easily take you longer than walking :rotfl:0

 Man Pic - London Euston direct 7.55 - 10.06.
 then Walk St Pancras
London St Pancras - Gatwick direct 10.40-11.30
Does this look like the right journey to get to Terminal S for a flight at 2.30pm?
This should be fine - trains from St Pancras to Gatwick are usually every 20mins and drop you underneath South Terminal0

I agree. From Euston consider walking along Phoenix Rd and Brill Place.
If there are 3 or more of you consider a group save ticket from STP to GTW.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I would get the train half an hour earlier, just in case of delays.0

If you happen to be traveling on a weekend I would advise you to check for engineering works on https://www.nationalrail.co.uk. It doesn't show disruption too far ahead so you should check again a couple of months before you travel.
I think that the Gatwick train is operated by Thameslink (but I'm not sure).
Although you won't be taking it, the Gatwick Express from Victoria is expensive and only arrives a minute or two earlier than a standard train so should be avoided.0

            Bear in mind that if you have a Oyster or Contactless card, the Adult fare is thus;
London St Pancras International Rail Station
 to & fro
 Gatwick Airport Rail StationPeak: £14.00
Monday to Friday from 0630 to 0930 and from 1600 to 1900.
 Off Peak: £8.00
At all other times including public holidays.
Also the same for the other London services with the exception of the Gatwick Express.

 - that leaves you 3 hours to kill in Gatwick, not a pleasant prospect. If it were me I'd go 30 to 45 minutes later. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

My thoughts, although another poster has suggested going even earlier "in case of delays".
The walk from Euston to St Pancras with luggage will inevitably take longer than expected, and anxiety about being late could make that an unpleasant experience. And I think that the relevant section of most travel insurance policies expects you to allow three hours at the airport...0

3 hours can fly by when you're in a new place, especially a big airport. It's better for the OP (IMO) to take their posted trains to have plenty of time, which avoids any stress.
OP, the train station at Gatwick is attached to the South Terminal so that makes it easy. Come out of station and turn left - that's where the check-in counters are. There are lots of screens to tell you where your check-in will be. Get yourselves and bags checked in as then you can relax a bit and find your bearings. Signage is good, so you'll easily find everything. Have a good trip 0 0
