I,m looking for a small program (win 10) that will allow "stacking" of MP3 tracks , and play one after the other.
there are multiple CDs
windows media player gets confused if you plug in an external drive
the guy has virtual DJ , (latest version) , that seems to let you gather a playlist , but it seems that you have to start / fade each track in.
something simple , so that he can make a brew or have a bath whilst playing multi tracks from different CDs stored on his computer

VLC only allows opening of a single CD at a time
unless you can advise differently ,Save a Rachael

Well yes or no, depends on whether you wish to flount the "law" and copy the CDs to a disc? But since the CDs contain mp3s then the format change has been already addressed?4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . sorry but the program you suggested is not capable of switching between CDs , any other suggestions for me to try , PS winamp is not suitable either
the CDs are personal recordings of motor racing events , not copyright musicSave a Rachael

the files , originally recorded as WAV , but now converted to MP3s are indeed copied to a PC , they are in folders (by date/location) , however someone (me) may only want to listen to "xx events" , so I would like to create a playlist , so that all files with that title can be played directly after each other.
all that is needed , is a sound playing proggy that can play
folder 1 , track 9,10,23
folder 4 track 3,6,8
folder ,,,,,,,,,,,,
etc etcSave a Rachael

I'm a little confused as to what you're asking, but I *think* all you need is to set up a playlist.
In VLC, you can access the playlist by going to the View menu and selecting "Playlist" or by hitting CTRL+L.
Then you can drag & drop any WAVs, MP3s, and any other compatible media to the playlist.
Then just click play. You can use the "random" button (to the far right of the play button) to have the tracks play in pseudo-random order.0 -

ok , thanks for that , I can see the page now , my location is not on the list , they are in drive d: , only offered sounds/vid/discs , etc , however if I go to the box above and open location , its looking for flac files , not MP3 , nothing shown , if I click ok it adds a directory of hidden files and plays them allSave a Rachael
