First time I bought (many years ago) I viewed about 15. This time, having had a 5 year break from home ownership, just two - the second we viewed was far better than we dreamed we could ever have, and in a perfect location, and had the "right" feeling about it. We didn't think twice before putting the offer in.

I looked at loooads on Rightmove, narrowed it down to half a dozen and viewed those - which confirmed that my number 1 choice was indeed the right one for me.

We viewed two, we was instantly put off the first viewing when someone peered their head from a bedroom window smoking a joint said "what now????".

The second viewing ticked all the right boxes for us, enough for us to buy it. ;)

I struggled to get any viewings. Couldn't get hold of agents, they didn't phone back, when they did phone back they'd say it'd gone. A couple were tenanted and I don't view those. Drove 30 miles to view one that looked bl00dy awful in real life.

Viewed another that was so dark inside I knew immediately I didn't want it.

Viewed another that was bizarre and completely cr4p.

Viewed this one and it was light and had walls, so I bought it as I needed/wanted a house and it was available.

I was trying to buy at the bottom of the price range, so in competition with BTL landlords and most other houses for sale were shabby and were priced lower as they needed work, so there was little choice really.
  • First time viewer. I viewed six in total. Ended up buying the very first one I saw over a year later.
  • We also viewed six - how strange!
They were all in one day and the house we made the offer on was the very last one, in the dark. We did a second viewing a few days later in daylight then put our offer in.
A lot of websites seem to suggest you should do at least 10-15 but apparently the forumites beg to differ ;-)

We viewed them all in the same day.

We viewed the one we fell in love with again 2 days later, then made an offer. Now we live in it.
    Snap! Exactly the same :D

    FTB-ers, viewed about 15.

The first five were all very different.

The last ten were all of the type that we had decided we loved and within about a five street radius.

We did second viewings on two, and offer was accepted (after negotiation) on one of them.
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all
