Bt

Can anyone recommend how to deal with BT?

I've received awful service from them since switching to them early December. We are currently without a working phone line and broadband as they stopped working a couple of weeks ago. Have called BT a few times trying to sort it and now they are saying we won't have internet again until early Feb. They have never called back when they said they would which has left us to call them and rack up quite high mobile phone bills. At the end of my tether now!

Any help/advice would be gratefully received.

Who was your previous internet with?
I'm sure there is good reason why they inform you that you won't have the service you require before a future date.
  • It was Talk Talk
  • Ness I have found the only way I got anything resolved was to go onto the BT customer forums. You will need to set up a username. They are supposed to be just customer to customer help but what tends to happen if you complain on the forum (in a way that suggests you are asking for help) is that a moderator will reply asking you to email a link (make sure you are logged in or the link won't work) - this puts the complaint into the mods hands who pick it up.

Do that and the moderators (based in the UK) take it up and deal with it. Its the only way I got anything sorted. They were great and a really helpful welsh guy phoned me. It was sorted within the week when I had had LOTS of calls and online chats with their india call centre who are BEYOND useless.

I am currently still battling with them though on the bill. My service was not connected on the date it says it was and yet they only apply the rebate from 3 working days after they officially register the 'fault' - the fault being the fact you were not connected properly so it was impossible to receive any service. Therefore they are insisting I pay for 10 days of 'service' I could never have received as they did not connect me properly.

Anyone else reading this DO NOT JOIN BT!!!! Worst decision I ever made.
  • Thank you so much, I'll try that.
Agreed. it was the worst decision I've ever made too!
