Want Fibre Broadband without changing line rental supplier

I am currently a Post Office Line Rental customer and have paid in advance until Nov of this year. My Broadband supplier used to be o2 which was overtaken by Sky and this is coming to the end of a contract next month. I am looking to move to Fibre Broadband but don't want to change the line rental from post office. Are there any suppliers that will do this other than Virgin Media who seem to be very expensive for BB only.

Have you asked Sky for the future price or considered taking your broadband with the Post Office (now TalkTalk), as taking line and internet from the same company is usually the cheapest option ?
  • Post Office do not offer the option for Fibre as I would like a faster connection. Currently with sky i get around 5MB and at peak times around 1MB
  • Zen Internet allow this although they charge extra if you don't use their line rental. Not the cheapest by any means but customer service and reliability is top notch which for me is more important in this one instance than saving a few quid each month.

The Post Office book of business (ie you) has been bought out by TalkTalk. Your with TalkTalk now, O_U. And they offer fibre.

BT offer standalone fibre but it costs a fortune. The last time I looked it was somewhere in the region of £40pm, so comparable with Virgin Media. Not good value.

Several, including Plusnet (£17.49 or £22.49 a month depending on speed, with a £50 activation charge, 18 month contract).

The best deals are only on offer to those who take both line rental and broadband from the same provider.

That's not correct. TalkTalk provide the Post Office service for those who take both line rental and broadband, but they do not own the business. Fujitsu are also involved in managing the PO's home phone and broadband services.
  • Confirmed Post Office cannot provide TalkTalk Fibre.

Zen Fibre Broadband is more expensive that Plusnet.

Will look into Plusnet but find it shocking that they charge for router and have an activation charge as well.

Router charge is for postage only as most companies do. Activation charge is also quite standard for fibre - some will waive it but often only for an existing customer wanting to upgrade.

Are you sure you want fibre o_u? The above are only standard charges for such packages and even after introductory discounts fibre doesn't come cheap. Actually, why do you want fibre as opposed to normal copper BB?
