Sun holidays taking a dog?

Hi,
Looking to book a sun holiday this year and we want to take our dog with us, he's a Labrador

There are a few parks in the areas we have been looking at that accept dogs I was just a bit wary on booking the holiday and having to contact the place after to see if dog friendly accommodation available after?

Has anyone had problems in the past with not getting a place with your dog after booking?
We don't have anyone to look after him and don't want to put him in kennels.

It is best to only book places that say that they definitely take dogs as you can't change your booking after the fact, and neither will you get a refund.

We took my friends dog to a holiday home down in Southwold Suffolk. The house was in fabulous condition, no carpets which was great for the dog. And an outside garden space for him to do his business in the middle of the night. Beautiful part of the country, fabulous beaches for walking dogs! Lots of the local pubs allow dogs too.

I made sure I only booked a site last year that accepted dogs but when my confirmation came through it said "no dogs". I got on to the site and they said the accommodation they book through The Sun are not the ones that allow dogs.


I tried to get them to change my booking to allow my dog but they refused.


I am thinking of booking a Sun holiday this year but will not be taking my dog

Was that Woolacombe Bay Holiday Village?
They accept Dogs if booked direct but not through Newspaper promotions.
It is clear on the brochure this year.

No, it's wasn't there but can't remember where exactly it was

Parkdean are dog friendly sites and we have taken our dog on sun holidays to 4 of their sites. Just called the site direct once the Sun booking is confirmed

Haven usually allow dogs in their standard caravans, but be warned, standard means standard! I followed a dog owner in a standard van one year, dog hair everywhere and I left my dog at home!
I upgrade now to ensure this doesn't happen again.

I once changed my booking and told them we wanted to take a dog when we had paid extra for a decent caravan. We then got downgraded again to a very standard caravan that was freezing, at the very end of the Canaan park and was quite scruffy. It is a bit of hassle when taking a dog!

If they accept dogs on the park, then that's fine. But I highly recommend calling during the booking process as only certain 'grade' accommodation take them. You may also have to pay (think its £20 per dog).
