Thinking of changing to GB Energy

I am thinking of changing supplier as my current fix with Sainsbury's is due to end on 29th Feb.
GB Energy are one of the cheapest along with Extra Energy.
Extra Energy reviews are putting me off changing to them but there are very few reviews about GB Energy.
Has anyone on here dealt with them and if so how did they fare?
Ovo are also in the ballpark so not discounting them either. The nearest large supplier is Scottish Power.
Help appreciated as Sainsbury's have now ruled themselves out due to offering equivalent BG tariffs only.

My daughter has used them for the past 12 months without any issues. Based on her experience, I switched my electricity supply to them yesterday. Communications from them have been very good. I did question the lack of an e-mail about an opening meter reading and got a vague CS response. A request for a meter reading though did come through yesterday - on the day of the switch. So good so far. The only point to note is that they take the first payment 3 weeks after you apply to switch.
I also switched my gas to Zog and their e-mails etc have also been top notch. Using 2 suppliers will save me about £112 per year on a £700 spend. I was previously on a good dual fuel tariff with Ovo.
Ps Neither of the above companies offer any MSE CEC Cashback. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

My cheapest option is electric with GB and gas with Zog as per your scenario. My fix ends on 29th Feb so will be signing up at the end of the month0 -
Been with both companies.
Extra Energy were appalling - don't even think about it.
GB Energy have been fine; go for it.0 -

I think that you are pretty close to the 49/42 and-of-contract window already; i.e., no exit fees. You can apply to switch as soon as your present supplier contacts you. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I applied to switch our Gas and Electricity Supply from npower to GB Energy on 11 March. The first Direct Debit payment was collected on 1 April.
I just supplied them with our first meter readings to complete the switch which is effective from today. They will then inform npower of the readings who will then issue me with their final bill.
So far so good, no issues at all. I'm very pleased to be leaving npower, I don't think i've ever spent so much time on the phone with a company about all manner of problems as them. Terrible!0 -

Just so you know. If you want bills based on actual meter readings - rather than estimates - you need to provide GB with meter readings on the day before your monthly billing date. For example, my bills run from today (the 10th) so I provide meter readings on the 9th. The statement comes through about 3 days later and it also shows in your online account. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
