What should my Virgin broadband speed be?

Just been clearing out some old paperwork and found a Virgin invoice for September 2013 which lists our cable speed as XL up to 60mb.
Also found most recent invoice, November 2015, which lists our bb speed as Superfibre 60. Is this what it seems, the same speed? Incidentally the bills increased by £16 month in that time despite no change in our bundle (we also have xl TV).
Wasn't there a big promotion in January 2015 about Virgin speeds doubling? Was this for selected customers only? I recall phoning them and being told there was a delay because we were on an earlier exchange which needed enlarging but local authority were reluctant to give planning permission.
Recently our speed has deteriorated and we have only been getting around 35 Mb.

You had to ask Virgin specifically to double your speed and in return you had to agree to a new minimum term contract.
Do you really need it explaining that prices have been raised (often) by providers?
If you are consistently getting much less than the advertised speed (which is "up to.."), then I recommend you complain to your provider or find another.
Please don't start multiple threads about this asking the same question...0
