3 options
1. Ignore completely - on balance of probs nothing will happen
2. Appeal to PPC
3. Write to PPC requesting info as in the newbies thread
My preference is for 3 because they won't want to provide answers . No saying this will necessarily stop them though but it does demonstrate you've corresponded rather than simply ignoring .
Appealing IMO is giving credibility to an appeals service that doesn't deserve it, is a waste of time and potentially arming them with a verdict a lazy/ ill informed DJ may take note of .Others though disagree

Oh dear I just can not believe that a PPC would try such an underhanded trick in deliberately typing the wrong number in a winder screen ticket:eek:
OK
I would :rotfl:
Keep up the good work

Read the NEWBIES thread post #1 and send the IPC appeal of questions. DO NOT say who was driving nor embellish the appeal.Trevstonbury wrote: »And what would you recommend?Whats worse case in this instance?
Worst case scenario is a PPC issues a small claim and you defend with our help. It goes to a hearing, if the PPC proceed (think Judge Rinder, you with your evidence file and them with theirs). If/when you win, then you win! And can sometimes claim expenses but not solicitors costs - so it's not worth engaging a solicitor for a small claim unless an insurance policy of yours has free legal cover. In general, you can't reclaim legal costs.
If you lose then most cases mean the victim pays about £160 tops, sometimes less. Then you'd pay and there would be no repercussions, no black mark on credit rating, not even a CCJ if you pay up within 30 days of judgment.
And...if you keep the PCN and Notice to Keeper and other letters safe for 6 years, and DO NOT IMPLY WHO WAS DRIVING then they cannot consider you liable as keeper. The NTK has to repeat the info in the PCN and has to meet other criteria - it hasn't.
And...UKCPM very rarely try any claims, they just send debt collector drivel already covered in post #4 of the NEWBIES thread that we never want to read another thread about in our lives (please).
So one appeal as KEEPER, as per the sticky thread then ignore mode unless you get court papers to defend, which would be fun in this case.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi Guys,
I really appreciate the advice and feedback you've been giving me. Has given me a lot of confidence!
I've had a response to my appeal from the PPC and you've guessed it , it's been rejected. If im reading correctly, im going to ignore further appeals to the IPC as it seems pointless (please tell me if im wrong). So I guess it's just a waiting game now then, ignore the debt collector letter and hope I don't get anything 'court' related through.
On further investigation I found that my car was actually parked about a meter before the sign warning of parking restrictions, im guessing I just let this sit for now and keep my photo's etc, but would this be useful if it did go to court?
Kind regards

Yes your photos could be key.
I do now suggest one step with IAS cases - register 'intent' to appeal. It can't hurt.
Then wait to see if the PPC submit their 'prima facie case' in time (they probably will but in some cases missed evidence would win it for the appellant) and if you can see any really glaring holes, come back here and we can discuss if proceeding to actually put in your IAS appeal is worth a shot.
Normally it's not - but we've had a couple recently worth a try and the first was won (the PPC's case was that the appellant was the driver but in fact she could prove she'd already given the name and address of the driver in her appeal - the PPC's case was shot to pieces but the appellant had to submit all sorts of proof to be half-sure that the kangaroo court would not dismiss the appeal).
So register intent as the rejection letter tells you and you then get to see their cards, and can still walk away and ignore, knowing more about their case if they do try court later. Keep everything, PCN with wrong reg, all letters, pictures and including screenshots of the 'prima facie case' which I doubt will remain available to you later.PRIVATE 'PCN'?
