Monday 11th January 2016 - What small DFW things will you do today???!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym :j
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

For the first time in ages I actually had a full nights sleep so I am wide awake (rather than being awake from 3:30-4:45am, and snoozing the alarm til 7:30). I was able to get up at 6am
Today I have/will:- checked banking - all as should be
- checked investment - not enough to withdraw so I'll have to wait
- a quick shower
- meals from stores - tracking food as i go following the new ww plan
- take a coffee with me to work
- resist the urge to buy a coffee at work
- need salad foods, so its not going to be a nsd
- read papers online
- charging phone via pc
- write at least 2x procedures for work - my replacement starts on Thursday
:D:D
- drive sensibly on the motorway
- check for surveys
- check out how my eBay sales are going
I think that's my lot for today. Take care all

Morning everyone
I slept well last night too so I am raring to go this morning.
Will take soup for lunch. Need to start reading electricity meter again, have slipped out of the habit and have been using the tumble drier quite a bit. Heating is on for a bit, its cold this morning.
Dont think I should need to spend anything today.
Will catch up later x0 -
Morning all.
Candy0107 it is so frustrating not sleeping isnt it. I have only had the issue recently and find it so debilitating. We are going into lambing next week and one of the strengths I have always had is to be able to sleep whenever required so could get up for any shift! Oh dear. No more Mrs Useful, they will have to take me as they find me whenever I am awake. Not ideal for the girls.
Today will be a busy work day, aren't they all?
Washer and dryer on cheap rate twice in the night.
Lots of food and milk in the fridge so should be a nsd unless I meet my friend for lunch. Should be fish or if DH forgets to get out of freezer, sausages.
I need to swim after work. I hope I still have the energy by then.
Need to check banking.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone,
Up and at it this morning. A stack of reports to write and not a lot of time to do it in plus a meeting after work so not much time for anything else today!
Today:Leftovers lunch from the freezer - there was a bit of spag bol left and I put it into wee pots to take with me
Lots leftover from last night's tea as well, as lots of us ate at church, so we'll be having that for tea with pasta from the cupboard
Check the bank properly - it doesn't look quite how it should!
Keep at those Rainbow accounts - I must keep up to date with them and then I wouldn't have to do this at the end of the year
Have a good day everyone

Morning all :hello:
Thanks for the start Candy. I have a bit of the Monday blues today I have to admit. I'm with everyone on the poor sleep front. It's no secret I don't sleep well - I constantly have to tell myself that being tired won't kill me. I hope :rotfl:
Start of another full and busy week ahead - money is starting to look tight and we're still quite a way from payday  Will have to maximise nsds for the remainder of the month.
Today's plans:Hand deliver my sister's birthday card
Aim for nsd
Check banking and PAD
Full day of teaching
Mark at least one set of books
Try to make time for myself
Exercise
Crochet
Be in bed by 10pm
Encourage dh to do something
Minimise heating use
15 mins housework and declutter
I think that's it for the moment - have a good day everyone. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Morning all
Thanks for the start Candy
I didn't sleep well either, seems to be a lot of it about, but up early and determined to make the best of the day.
Today I will:
Cheapie porridge breakfast
Read news online
See to hens - sadly they are not laying at the moment
Check banks
Dog walks x 2 (free exercise)
Put away washing off airer
Housework
HM meals
Go to sales unit and do anything needed
Need to do a small shop today, which will include donations for the food bank
Walk all journeys (our road is closed at the moment, and will be for about 6 weeks, and it is a real pain trying to do anything else)
But on the other hand it will hopefully help me to shift the pounds I put on over Christmas
Phone friend as it is her birthday
Any surveys that are available
Check FPL
That is all I can think of at the moment. Hope you all have a good day0 -
Morning Frugalistas,
Feeling a bit flat this morning. Best remedy for that is to throw myself into the day & keep busy. So today I will:
*Make dough for bread rolls & pizza base.
*Squidge down to greenhouse to pick lettuce.
*Check banking.
*Pay credit card bill.
*Pay £45 off credit card 2. Used it for a planned online purchase to maximise points for M&S vouchers, but we then pay in the money straight away.
*Laundry done overnight on cheap tariff. Will hang on heated airer (raining) & set timer for another cheap wash tonight.
*Enter competition.
*Look at Holiday Savings Piggy. Work out when we will have balance to pay cottage rental. Should be some leftover which I want to earmark for a camping trip.
*Re-list a couple of items on ebay. If time, sort through some more potential ebay items.
*Finish a big task from my 'Annoying Things' list. No cost implication, but time-consuming as this task relates to inforrmation I need to recover following our double IT meltdown last month.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch & check meal plans to see if anything needs to come out of the freezer.
That will do for today as IT task will take up several hours, I think.
Have a good day all,
