I don't see the relation to how good we are at amateur olympics has with how the economy behaves?

We've got loads of world class athletes because we've got loads of word class athletic programs. Programs which are likely to get slashed as part of budget cuts (which has already been happening).

Clegg and all the other cowardly short sighted Bremoaners argued that outside the EU Britain would be in thier words impotent, irrelevant, without influence on the world stage, incapable, a small island with a small population that can't survive in the big wide world (I know, sounds so childish now), for example due to our size we "cannot hope to compete in trade" and as we only have 60 m people "China and others will ignore us, dominate us, we won't be able to compete with them" so said the gloomy remoaners

The Olympics gives us a sense that in spite of our relativly small size and being little Britain we can punch way above our weight all on our own without the old Men of Brussels managing things. Sport, trade, music, football, science, film, military prowess, we are more than capable of holding our own

Where do you come up with this stuff? Who exactly are you addressing it to?

Chukka Umoona, Clegg, Tim Farron and all the others that endlessly argued we would drift off into the north Atlanitic as a small irrelevant nation when without the backing of the EU, indeed plenty of you on here asserted we would be impotent, irrelevant, without influence or power of left to our own devices.

I know the truth hurts, get used to it, all the Remain gloom and negativity will be proved utter nonsense

But the two are completely unrelated. We can currently compete on the world stage in athletics, but that has no bearing on how we compete on the world stage in politics.

Kenya dominates the world in long distance running, but where are they politically or economically?

Plenty of gold medals have been won by political and economic non-entities.

They are incapable of rational thought. Thier message is; We British are incapable of managing our own affairs and destiny

Wow, we get all those medals while being in the EU. That's pretty good stuff innit?

More comments from people who don't understand scottish house selling.

We get a home report done as a seller. This gives a value.
Estate agents pick a number, usually around 10% over this. House gets marketed at this figure as "offers over".

House usually sells in the region of the home report value, or well above it in some areas (and below in others).

Yeah, in parts of Scotland 'offers over' really does mean offers over - perfectly normal, and been the case for a long time. It does vary from area to area (where I am, places are almost always marketed at 'offers over' home report valuations, and sellers may drop prices below this valuation if it doesn't go).

Not even the Erasmus sports funding?

So am I, but I'm also willing to allow the good sense of the people of Europe to do the same. However, one of them seems to be providing lots of funding where needed, and the other doesn't.

You are happy for a federal european super state and I prefer direct democracy of the people of the UK.
That is what brexit is all about.

    Where was that said too?

I said our goverment has a pretty bad track record of spending money where it's needed, unlike the EU comissions that seem to do a much better job. Would you really want to be run by incompetents just as long as they are our incompetents?
