I will wait until a poor family (indirect victim) loses their house during the next Recession. Do you want to hear nasty things like that? I'm not like that so stop being funny with meThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

You're very sensitive for someone in the forces?
You have only recently appeared on this forum and have instantly become a loud shouter in the crash camp. Almost everything you say is stated as fact yet it's just opinions because you can't afford the type of house you want.
I'm basing my opinions on what I'm seeing in the housing market around me.
Why do you keep bringing up the fact I'm in Scotland? I've never supported SNP either. Do you hate all nationalities orher than your own? (which, in fact, is the same nationality as us in Scotland)0 -
Crashy Mk2, with an agenda....hoping that current owners end up in misery so he gets what he wants. nice0

Best part is he comes on here asking for advice on offers while in reality he is another crashy0

I notice many nations exporting more than we do into the EU, no membership, no problems, no issues meeting local EU standards.
John Redwood helped design the SM and says today in his blog it's completely over rated and the benefits are spurious and that many folk completely over estimate the benefits
There is some sort of cult like adoration of all thing sBrussels, with little evidence to back it up0 -

A lot of exports aren't interchangeable. So for instance if Russia exports a lot of natural gas to Germany we can't go to the Germans and say stop importing that natural gas and buy some media services from us instead.
Natural resources which are significant shouldn't be taken into account when you look at how much other nations export to the EU
Even a lot of other things are difficult (impossible) to replace. Eg the UK isn't going to become a major computer chip fabricating country. Its impossible.
We need to look at what we do export and what we might feasibly be able to export in the future. And if you want to look at countries outside the EU you should look at the countries with a similar profile of goods and services to compare to.0 -

one can be absolutely sure that if gfplux says something is unbiased then it is a totally europhile load of nonsense.
in this case it loses the plot in the first couple of paragraphs.
we need to initiate article 50 right now.0 -
50% of Japans exports are vehicles and machinery. It's never been thought of as an exporter of services and obviously doesn't need to be.
Comparing an apple with a pear here.
But we were talking about exports not about percentage of economy that's services. Like all developed countries Japan's got a huge internal service sector. Perhaps because it's not all that amenable to importing services.
Meanwhile unemployment in Japan is an astonishingly low 3.5%. Not bad for a sovereign nation that's not part of a protection club.
At about 130 million it's population already means its like a good sized club so it would be closer to the UK and France exiting the EU together to go it alone. A lot easier than the UK alone.
It also has free trade deals with uncle Sam something the UK doesn't right now0
